Liverpool's Greatest - No.5: John Barnes ✨

The club failed him, should have a FAR bigger trophy count to represent how good he was

This was my list yesterday and I got the 1st one right

The best of best JB.

You just have to admire greatness

@Paisley7609 It’s no secret that JB is my all time favourite footballer Still to this day the most skilful player I’ve seen at LFC - but the tricks & flicks were only ever for the benefit of the team A genius of a player but a brilliant ambassador for the club too Idolise the man ❤️ 🇯🇲

If we’re being real, he should have been above Salah!

My favourite ever Liverpool player. A joy to watch.

Carragher is crying somewhere because Salah is above this guy

My favourite ever player. Had the pleasure to finally meet him recently too.

@Liverpool3131 He’ll always be no1 in my eyes 🐐🙌🏿

Only caught the end of his career but my Dad used to say he was the best Liverpool player he'd ever seen, ahead of Dalglish.

@SteKelly198586 Not a chance Mo Salah is above John Barnes, he's just not no matter how anybody wants to spin it. Ability wise he is not in diggers league Few are Dalglish and Gerrard the only two names above John Barnes and it's not even up for debate

I’m not racist I love John Barnes

A 200 million player today. The top 4 will have to go some!

Well deserved

Having supported Liverpool now for 40+ years in can say hand on heart if I could bring back one player back it would be @officialbarnesy Ahead of anyone else.

@officialbarnesy was one of the greatest players in the planet from 87-91

One of my footballing hero’s growing up. Some player

Barnes just glided past players one foot to another and he accelerated away his finishing was elite. He just settled right into the team pace and power the perfect combination today nobody could stop him.

Fairs

I don't care who he is but he can't make it to Chelsea top 50

I loved John Barnes he was my hero in 1987 I want tobe him.,,. In my opinion should of been higher

@SteKelly198586 Nah 1.Dalglish 2.Gerrard 3.Barnes 4.Souness 5. Rush 6.Liddell 7.Callaghan 8.Hansen 9.Smith 10.Yeats 11.Keegan 12.Neal 13.Scott 14.Salah 15.Hunt John 17.Clemence 18.Van Diyk 19.Allison 20.Fowler My top 20, will change again tomorrow Impossible to compile

Fully deserved Barnes was pure elegance on the ball, a game-changer in his era and a true Liverpool icon. 🔴✨

JB is the reason I started supporting our great club as child.

Barnes at number 5 is gonna start a whole debate about who's really above him 😂

Should be higher.........

I'm not racist, I love Johnny barnes

John Barnes was a super player in today's market he would be worth more then £150m fee and his wages would be £300k pw

Good choice, congrats John 🔥

Well deserved
