This is Teheran this morning - Yes, this morning. Thick black clouds are covering the city - oil and ashes are raining down on the streets. War is hell. A PH test of the water in Teheran also shows that the water has become acidic- resulting from the oil and ashes leaking into the fresh water supply of the city. The corrosion of the cities water and sewage pipes will become a problem for the city; a problem for the generations to come.

Some of my storyboards from the opening of The Wild Robot. I liked the idea of the first shot in the film (after the pull-out from her eye) being Roz in a fetal position for "The Robot Hatches." But the idea got lost as it went through the production pipeline. I ended up using some stock photography and videos for some of the water in this scene. I think because the environment was such a character for us in these opening scenes. The photography seemed to help me to sell the contrast between Roz and the wilderness.

Once again, the Black Skimmer is demonstrating the wonders of aerodynamics. Each twist of the body, each individual feather helping steer while a wall of crashing white water rumbles just behind the bird’s outstretched tail. Like a surgeon’s scalpel, the bird’s lower beak surgically slices through the water with utmost care and precision in hopes of coming into contact with a poor, unsuspecting fish. This attempt might have been unsuccessful, but it doesn’t seem like the bird has a care in the world. It just keeps skimming through the shallows, waiting for that tasty morsel to graze its outstretched beak. So remember, when failure raises its head and stares you in the eye. Just keep skimming because eventually you’ll succeed just like the magical Black Skimmer.
