Today we stood with the people of Chertsey, laying flowers for that poor two-year-old angel. We showed the community they are not alone, many of us have no choice but to stand up. That poor little girl was the same age as my own and she was ripped away in the most brutal way by a man who should never have been in this country. This is becoming far too common: men not born here committing horrific crimes against our women and children. Whether they come through the front door or not, they should never be here. Flowers and words are not enough. We honoured her today… but action is coming. We’ve had enough.

The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare Ali Pate says the country can cater to its citizens’ health despite the US Agency for International Development (USAID)’s exit. "We may be a poor country, but we are a capable country, and we are determined to own up to that responsibility," he said. "If others step in and support us, we appreciate it, but we are not begging for it, and we also will live within what we have".

Labour don’t get that their policies are driving the very things they say they want to fix. They then try to fix that by spending everyone’s tax on stuff that doesn’t work. Take this. Liz Kendall famously failed to cut welfare while Rachel Reeves jacked up jobs taxes. Both policies are killing opportunity for young people. Now it’s more expensive to employ humans at a time when AI is disrupting the graduate jobs market. Kendall becomes Tech Secretary, launches an AI Skills Hub to ‘help’ same young people. It costs millions and a few months in, they can’t even tell us how many people are using it. A low tech solution to sound high tech, while completely screwing the fundamentals on employment taxes.
