Venezuela. Nearly 8 million people were forced to leave their country under Maduro. Inflation erased everything. Families crossed the border with nothing. People cried in the streets, begging for food, work, and safety. An entire "brain-power" generation left. The young, the educated, the future. What kept many families alive was the money sent back by those who escaped. At the time Colombia gave legal refuge when they had nowhere else to go. Some of the people closest to me are Venezuelans. I have lived this with them. I have seen what was done to them with my own eyes. Today, every single one of them is crying with happiness. Not just happy. This is trauma-healing level ecstatic. I have not seen enough about the decision from Mike Vrabel and Tim Kelly to go for 2 down by 8 last night. Here’s why I loved it: 1) NFL teams this season have been successful on 55% of two-point conversion attempts. The odds were in the Titans’ favor. 2) Will Levis was dealing in the 2nd half. 3) Titans still had all three timeouts and the two-minute warning. 4) Miami struggled to move the ball on offense all night. Their three scoring drives went for 12, 7, and 59 yards. 5) If successful on the two-point conversion, a stop on defense and a TD wins the game. If unsuccessful, you can still send it to OT. 6) Titans offense marched down the field, scored the TD to make it a one possession game and essentially told Miami, “we are going for two because we know you cannot stop us right now.” The odds are in your favor. It’s a good mathematical decision. You want to psych out an opposing offense? Give them the ball knowing they need to run the clock out, or you are going to have a chance to WIN the game, not send it to overtime. They saw what your offense just did to their defense. They saw your QB on the sideline screaming and hyping everyone up. Cutting the lead to six put WAY more pressure on the Dolphins offense. You want to hype up your defense? Put them back on the field knowing your offense just did their job. Put them back on the field knowing a stop and a TD wins it. At that point, they aren’t in the mindset of “we need a stop to have a chance to go to OT.” They are thinking, “let’s go out here, get a stop, and give our offense a chance to WIN.” There’s a fundamental difference in playing to WIN and playing NOT to LOSE. As with any group there are some bad actors which make it bad for everyone. Trump himself has also got to do a much better job persuading RFK supporters. As of late he has just been referring to RFK as a “good team player” and saying “all RFK’s voters will vote for me,” which is possibly the worse thing he could say to persuade on the fence RFK supporters. RFK’s supporters are filled with people from just about every part of the political spectrum, with a few common beliefs including that the two party system continually lets us down. So now it’s Trump’s job to persuade this group that the system they believe is corrupt (which it is) will be different under him. In these battleground states where RFK just got removed and people were still planning on voting RFK, these are politically homeless voters now, they are not automatically Trump voters. Today - 43% of Australians, about 9 million people, have less than $1000 in the bank. That is about 9.2 million people. Also today, Jim Chalmers was running victory laps at the National Press Club. He told us they’re doing a great job managing the economy and have big plans for our nation - as he bounced from slogan to slogan. At some point Labor must stop campaigning and start answering for the mess we are in. A mess the political class have made. The establishment in Australia are so poll driven, so focused on the next sound bite they don’t seem to understand that their plans are not working. Too many Australians are worse off today than they were a decade ago. Housing, groceries and the everyday basics slipping further and further out of reach. Crime increasing as the situation worsens… and yet, the National Press Club in their pant suits fawn over every word that falls from Chalmers. He tells us the Labor government is modernising our electricity grid. As electricity becomes unstable and expensive. How very modern. He suggests they are “seizing the opportunities from Net Zero with a future made in Australia”, as long-standing businesses that used to make things here – close down for good. It sounds to me like he should instead have a PhD in spin. Not that the Australian media has much interest in questioning him. They don’t call out the obvious sloganeering and the absolute dishonesty – the whitewashing of the real situation of the Australian not privileged enough to sit in the club. Worse still, our economic situation is corroding, and it is the government that pours on the acid. Instead of talking about real problems and real solutions, Jim delighted the establishment crowd juggling balls of distraction drenched in sophistry. IT would seem that the big end of town doesn’t really care about Australia; they have the money and mobility to go anywhere – they’re global citizens. Their companies can make things anywhere. The media just want access, so they only ever go so far with their critique. The big banks are too big to fail. They don’t mind the digital cage closing on the rest of us… after all they have the keys. Oh… by the way, Chalmers will help our economy to digitise with a digital ID. That ought to fix it for those who are struggling. I think the government is out of its depth. The economy is getting much worse for real Australians - quickly. The establishment is immune, and the bubble is thick. We don’t really need the newspapers to tell us that it is getting tougher, or that Chalmers is more focused on his slogans than practical solutions. We can see that for ourselves. However, we do need significant cuts to immigration, cheap reliable electricity and a lot less regulation across the board. We need to transition back to an industrial economy. If we don’t, we will not recover – no matter what Dr. Jim says. I just want Australia back.

I don’t share these videos or this story often. At 5:45 PM on July 13, 2024 at the Butler Farm Show, my then 10-week pregnant wife and I spoke with President Donald J. Trump . He asked what I was noticing on the trail and about my work. I told him we were going to deliver him back to The White House. He commended me on my speech. And when I remember how angry I was that such a joyous occasion was turned horrific and the sense of relief I felt as I saw the President rise from the floor, I remember that families exists that have a much different story. Just yesterday, I spoke with David Dutch who explained that a bullet fragment is still pushing its way out of his abdomen. A painful reminder of his near-death experience. And the story that Helen, Allyson, and Kaylee have to tell and remember is a constant hell. Every day is a reminder of the loss of Corey. There was nothing staged about this attack. The death, and pain , and grief of it is still very real. It’s our duty to keep the memory of that day alive. So to all of those who tell us to let it go, to quit talking about it, and who say it was fake, I say: “Never.”

The Australian government does not deserve our trust, or our respect. Today, Minister Penny Wong sat back in her chair grappling for words, desperately looking for the right lie to tell. It is worse than dishonest - it is an absolute lack of care. Penny Wong came to this country when she was 8 years old. She came to a country that afforded her the ability to become who she is, and she is now doing her part to destroy it. Back in the 70’s, when she came, Australia was a fair-minded place and a great place to be. Yet here she is... Here in Australia. Undermining our country and lying to our faces. Because she can’t tell the truth. Because if she did, it would destroy any semblance of care for Australia tied to her old party’s Labor brand. It would say the quiet part out loud. The truth. The truth that the Albanese government is more interested in the fortunes of the ISIS brides, women who chose to leave this country to go and fight against our people, than those of us that can’t find or afford a place to live here at home. I am tired of being told how to think by people that completely lack morals and couldn’t care less. People that are elected and paid to operate in the national interest but always put their twisted ethics and back pockets ahead of our nation and our people. I don’t know when Labor stopped caring about Australian workers or worse, when they started hating Australia, but they have and they do. The absolute lack of opposition, the lack of authentic choice has pushed us into a place where these absolute traitors to the interests of the people who pay them - goes entirely unchecked. We are careening out of control, unchecked migration, an energy grid that is just about to collapse, no industry to speak of, and no good reason to start or maintain a business in this place. It happened fast, but those of us who pay our taxes and take risks to make Australia a better place, are being undermined and white-anted by our politicians. The people we are forced to trust, and must pretend to respect, because they have the force of law on their side. Not because they are any good at their jobs. Not because they have earned our affection. No. Simply because they are in charge and there is little to nothing that can be done about it. It is becoming apparent that the two party system has outlived its useful life. Too much corruption, too many words too carefully chosen in a pantomime between to political forces that don’t really want to change anything. They just want to have their go, to have their turn to jam their grubby hands into the till. Surely with this major and catastrophic failure by the so-called Honourable Minister Senator Wong, the people will be able to see through the veil and into the absolute and irresponsible lack of care at the heart of this deceitful Labor government. They lie about everything, and they can, because they don’t have an opposition worthy of the title. I am growing more confident by the day that the only solution to our woes is a new political force, a fresh, Australia first force, that will act in the national interest and put all these corrupt and useless used-car salesmen red and blue in the dustbin of history. It can’t come soon enough. Time is short. I just want Australia back.

Kids curled up on the floor with blankets. Parents sitting shoulder to shoulder. Elderly couples holding hands. Strangers sharing chargers, snacks, and quiet conversations. Above us, the city echoed with air defense and explosions. Below, people tried to make a few hours feel safe. At first, it was mostly silence. Then the stories began. A woman told me her husband was on the front line. A teenage boy showed me a photo of his older brother in uniform. Another family spoke about a son who hadn’t come back. These weren’t dramatic conversations. They were calm. Almost routine. Because for Ukrainians, this has become part of life. Standing there, surrounded by hundreds of people who never asked for this war, I didn’t feel fear. I felt responsibility. Responsibility to keep showing up. To keep helping. To keep turning support into real action. Because behind every donation, every delivery, every piece of equipment, there is a family like the ones I met that night. The war doesn’t pause.
