Thank you NEWSMAX .Anyone who's mad at me or saying I'm lying. Maybe you should start coming to City Hall and talking to the homeowners who have been fighting these issues for years. Go speak with the citizens who have been showing up meeting after meeting, trying to protect their homes, neighborhoods, and communities. I've been fighting on their behalf, especially as property taxes have skyrocketed and, in many cases, nearly tripled. I don't just make things up or repeat talking points. I spend time talking to the people affected, attending meetings, and listening to citizens who are living through these problems every day. I'm REALLY about the Chicago citizens. I will always stand with the people and fight for the homeowners, taxpayers, small businesses, and families who call Chicago home. As Mayor, my Chicagoans First platform will focus on, Freezing property taxes and providing relief for homeowners. Conducting forensic audits to identify waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer dollars. Cutting red tape and unnecessary fees so small businesses can grow and create jobs. Revitalizing vacant commercial corridors and blighted neighborhoods. Improving public safety so families and businesses can thrive. Supporting local hiring, apprenticeship programs, and trade education. Protecting longtime citizens from being displaced from their communities. Ensuring every neighborhood gets a seat at the table and receives the attention and investment it deserves. I don't work for the MACHINE. I work for the people. My mission is simple, put Chicago citizens first, rebuild our neighborhoods, protect homeowners, support small businesses, and make sure every community has the opportunity to thrive. If somebody working in other states don’t want to speak that states official local language then why go there to make living or do business? Get out and go back to your home state. (Listening to below attach clip will further make more sense) 1. Though normally don’t agree with politicians like Tejasvi Surya or for that matter Raj Thackeray style of divisive politics based on language. But here what wrong had #TejasSurya said? He had not incited people for violence or to hate others. He just said migrants people who had come to Karnataka for a living should speak in local language. What wrong in that ? 2. This is not just a question of people speaking Kannada or Tulu or Marathi,Tamil,Malayalam,Telugu or Bengali and other languages. If somebody is going in other states in our country for job or doing business then they should not only respect local people’s culture and languages butthey must also learn and speak that local language. Else people should go to any states in India as tourist and return back to their home state. 3. Why local people in Karnataka,Maharashtra,TamilNadu, West Bengal or any states are upset and angry not because of outsiders migrations but migrant people refusing to learn and speak local language and migrants behave very arrogantly many times, sometimes violently against local people. Even PM #NarendraModi had suggested people to learn 2-3 other states languages apart from our own mother tongue language. 4. Any govt organisation sending people to other states must ensure that their employees learn local language before giving them job profile training or after transfer to other states . Any private sector Businesses wanting to setup industries or offices in any states, must ensure they learn local language of that particular state, employ local people and when they are hiring people from other states then migrant employees are made to learn and speak local languages. If not then better leave that state. 5. 28 States in Bharat ie. India were formed on linguistic ie. Language basis. How can we afford to become one nation with only one language, with one culture, one system which is what people call it #Woke #Wokisme culture? Our SanatanDharma is very vast diverse ocean of many languages, rituals, food habits, different ways of life. We must maintain that diversity as we are not ChineseCommunistsParty ruled one party one Communists-Maoists country. 6. Hearing that few Business people saying they will shift their businesses from #Bengaluru to Pune or some other place as they and their employees are pissed off by local population insistence of speaking in local language and that they don’t want to learn and speak in local language. Why are you there first of all? You have not gone there as tourists for few days but you people found some business/employment opportunities to make a living then better learn and speak local language or go back to your home states. 7. People learn English before going to USA,UK,Australia and other English speaking countries. People learn French,Spanish,Mandarine,Japanese,Arabic languages before or after going to those countries . Else how can they survive and continue to work in these countries? Then why people in our country unwilling and refuse to learn and speak local languages of states where they work and make a living ? 8. Of course we the people of Bharat ie. India are united but without respecting, learning other states languages and instead rather becoming arrogant-violent, how can we preserve, promote and protect our so many wonderful-beautiful languages and such an ancient diverse culture ? 👇

I stand firmly in support of the deployment of the National Guard to Memphis. This decisive action by President Donald Trump Donald J. Trump President Donald J. Trump and Gov. Bill Lee is a necessary and welcome step to address the persistent challenges of violent crime that have plagued our Bluff City for far too long. My efforts to #MakeMemphisMatter are paying off, and I’m glad our city is getting the help it needs so law-abiding citizens feel safe to enjoy our parks, restaurants, and businesses. Memphis must have a safe environment where families can thrive, businesses can flourish, and communities can unite without the shadow of fear. The National Guard's presence will provide critical support to our dedicated law enforcement officers, bolstering their efforts to restore order and drive down crime rates that have reached unacceptable levels. We have seen measurable progress in recent months because of Sen. Marsha Blackburn’s persistent efforts to get federal resources like the FBI here, but we cannot afford to rest on our laurels. The Guard's expertise in community support has proven effective in DC facing similar crises, and it will help accelerate the positive momentum from FBI efforts already underway in Memphis. I must, however, strongly oppose the recent remarks by Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris, who has characterized this deployment as a "military occupation" and expressed unfounded fears that it threatens our democracy and freedoms. Such rhetoric is not only alarmist but divisive, sowing unnecessary doubt among our citizens at a time when unity is essential. Mayor Harris's calls to "reconsider" and his warnings of armored vehicles and semi-automatic weapons patrolling our streets paint a picture of oppression rather than partnership. This is not an invasion; it is an investment in public safety. The National Guard is composed of everyday Tennesseans, our neighbors, friends, and fellow patriots, who serve with honor to protect, not intimidate. To suggest otherwise undermines the very institutions that keep us secure and disrespects the brave men and women ready to answer the call. Instead of rejecting this support, I urge Mayor Harris and local leaders to collaborate fully with state and federal partners. Send us the resources, yes—but let us also embrace every tool available to make Memphis safer. Our freedoms are preserved through strong communities, not by turning away help when it's needed most. Together, with the National Guard's assistance, we will build a brighter, safer future for Memphis and all of Tennessee. In other words, we will Make Memphis Matter. Our state cannot be successful if its most famous city is sliding into chaos.

HOW IS THIS NOT IN THE NEWS?? ‼️ The very serious assault on a 15-year-old boy in Ballaghaderreen should be sparking a national conversation. But not a single national newspaper seems to have covered the silent protest that took place there last night. This is a major issue as we approach the election, yet our media won't touch it. Ballaghaderreen is a small town in Roscommon. Since 2017 the population has almost doubled due to refugees. It is estimated that the population has now reached ~1,800 people - 45% of whom are newcomers. The company that operates the IPAS centre in the town is called Next Week & Co. It made a whopping ~€8 million in AFTER-TAX profits last year. It is owned by Tony O'Neil from Cork and John Crean from Laois. The fact that these two men have been able to make €8mil without contributing anything back to local services is nothing short of appalling. There is no doubt they'll be voting Fine Gael & Fianna Fail back into Govt. Imagine if all the profits from housing refugees were invested back into local services? How is it that none of the opposition parties are calling out these obscene profits??? I'll tell you why.... its because everyone is too distracted by bullshit ideology and virtue signalling to focus on the truth of the matter. Below is a clip from the BBC's 2017 investigative documentary called "Irish Refugee Hotel," which focused on the small town of Ballaghaderreen. Along with a headline from the Irish Times in 2018. This town has been left to rot. I encourage everyone to type "Ballaghaderreen" into X to search out for yourself what has happened and the lack fo concern from media & Govt. Time to CONTROL IMMIGRATION. Vote Nick Delehanty 🗳️ Dublin Bay South Independent Please Support My campaign

The government really needs to put its foot down and tackle this urban challenge of beggars in Lagos. I know that some are Nigerians, and a Nigerian is free to live anywhere in the country, and all that, but it is not the responsibility of the Lagos State Government to take care of every beggar in Nigeria. They should be sent back to their states. I understand talents from all over Nigeria and the rest of the world coming to Lagos to work, to hustle, and to do business. Fine, the state can accommodate as much talent as possible, and it is even expanding because more people will come. But anybody coming to Lagos without a plan or to beg should be sent back to their states. When you allow this to continue, it becomes an identity. You are already hearing things like “Abegistan.” Why allow people to come into the state and damage the reputation? There should be agreements with their state governments, send them back and let their governments take care of them. If their states cannot take care of highly skilled people, at least they should be able to take care of the indigent ones. Every state government should develop social housing and support systems for their own people. Lagos cannot carry everyone. Stop allowing people to abandon their citizens and shift the burden. For those who claim to be Lagosians, let their ancestry be properly verified. If they are truly from Lagos, the government should take them in, rehabilitate them, and put them into vocational training. After training, support them with jobs or small businesses. Because it doesn’t make sense to be paying for people from other states while your own people are struggling. This was what Govs. Fashola and Ambode tried to address because they understood the long-term effects. When people can’t walk freely without being approached by beggars, it affects the city. Lagos is one of the most visited city in Nigeria, especially for people coming from abroad. It should not have this kind of identity. Please, send them back to their states and let their governments take responsibility. Nobody can take care of everybody, you are not Father Christmas, people wont even appreciate in the end so its not worth it. Sola Giwa Oluwaseun Osiyemi Idris Connecting Nigeria Engr. Yesterday I was opportune to be part of a Town Hall event organised by Channels Television anchored by SeunOkin Channels tv to discuss the Tax Reform Bills currently before the national assembly. The bills have seen significant opposition coming from some northern leaders and the NGF, especially on the issue of VAT revenue sharing among the states with many calling for the bills to be withdrawn by the President on account of this singular issue. Personally, I feel that part of the opposition from the bills stems from ignorance of the actual provisions contained in them or misconception of some aspects of the bill. However, when we look at the amount of VAT revenue that is triggering this whole haggling, you'll realise how precarious our revenue situation is. A dispassionate look at the data is essential to guide our positions on the necessity of these tax reforms. By the end of 2024, we may hit a record VAT collection of N6 trillion but that's just around $3.5 billion. In many states, their share of VAT revenue from FAAC in a year is bigger than their entire IGR! How on earth do you develop with such a revenue profile? This shows clearly that we need to reorganise and re-engineer our finances for optimum performance. This is what these bills seek to do. Although, increasing revenue collection is actually one of the intentions of these reforms but it is not the MAJOR reason. The major aim is to remove all the cogs and bottlenecks that affect growth and profitability of businesses in Nigeria by reducing their tax burden and exempting the small businesses from paying income tax. The vast majority of Nigerians who are poor would also be exempt from paying income tax. We're talking about 90% of Nigerians here! In other climes, any piece of legislation that brings overall tax relief to low income earners is always a popular bill with massive support. It is therefore bizarre that some persons are up in arms in Nigeria to oppose this kind of landmark legislation and they claim they're fighting for the masses. Data and logic should guide our positions and not sentiments or mischievous ignorance. Any reservations held by any individual or group about any section of the bills should be presented to the NASS during the public hearings and not calling for the withdrawal of the bills. Let's be serious in this country please.

I wish this video wasn’t relevant again, but here we are. To those who say politics aren’t personal, my life tells a different story. In 2011, I lost my partner. Sadly, our love had not been legally recognized at the state or federal level, and in the raw aftermath of his death, I faced discrimination that compounded my grief. This experience ignited my journey advocating for marriage equality and LGBTQ+ rights, through public speaking, a documentary called “Bridegroom,” and my YouTube video, “It Could Happen To You.” I knew then, as I know now, that my story was not unique. This fight has always been, and will always be, deeply personal. Over the years, we have celebrated significant victories, like the repeal of Prop 8 in California and the nationwide end of DOMA. These hard-won rights came through decades of relentless advocacy and sacrifice by LGBTQ+ individuals and allies. But today, these gains are once again at risk. We must stay vigilant to protect them. The threat to marriage equality is not hypothetical. The President-elect has openly stated his intention to appoint Supreme Court justices who could dismantle marriage rights at a federal level. Meanwhile, Republican leadership across the country continues to oppose LGBTQ+ protections. Civil rights should never be contingent on geography. We must stand united in protecting these essential freedoms—not just for ourselves, but for future generations who deserve the dignity of equal treatment under the law. Together, let’s make sure that love, equality, and dignity remain protected for all. Our love, our families, our futures are worth fighting for. I know many of us feel hopeless and scared right now, but here are some ways you can take action to protect yourselves and the LGBTQ+ community RIGHT NOW. This is in no way comprehensive, merely a starting point for those who want/need it. PROTECTING OUR LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY ACTION GUIDE 1. LEGAL PROTECTIONS A. Legal Safeguards -Create living trust -Secure medical power of attorney -Obtain financial power of attorney -Draft advance healthcare directives C. Family Protection -Complete second parent adoption -Update birth certificates -Secure guardianship documents -Create custody arrangements D. Legal Resources -Find LGBTQ+ friendly lawyers via lgbtqbar. org -Get free consultations when available -Keep copies of all documents in secure location -Share copies with trusted family/friends 2. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT A. Financial Support -Human Rights Campaign (national advocacy) -Lambda Legal (legal defense) -GLAAD (media representation) -The Trevor Project (youth support) -Local LGBTQ+ centers and shelters B. Economic Action -Research and support LGBTQ+ owned businesses -Prioritize Black, BIPOC, and women/femme owned enterprises -Share recommendations within community networks -Avoid companies with anti-LGBTQ+ practices C. Active Participation -Attend local drag shows and cultural events -Support inclusive library programs -Join Pride organizing committees -Attend town hall meetings -Participate in local LGBTQ+ groups D. Advocacy & Organization -Join Indivisible. org chapters -Connect with local activists -Register voters -Monitor and respond to local legislation 3. SHARING YOUR STORY A. 🚨🍕EXCLUSIVE: Trump Buys Pizza From Democrat Mega-Donor —Company Gave $50,000 to Terry McAuliffe's Campaign. Pizzagate!?🍕🚨 Trump’s Pizza Night With Law Enforcement Has a Hidden Twist: The Pizza's Came From a Democrat-Backed Powerhouse On August 21, 2025, President Trump made headlines after personally shaking hands with D.C. law enforcement, federal agents, and National Guard troops—then treating them to burgers from the White House and stacks of pizzas from Wiseguy Pizza. But here’s where the story takes an unexpected turn. 🕵️‍♂️ INVESTIGATION FINDS: Wiseguy Pizza is no longer the mom-and-pop shop many assumed. In 2022, it was bought out by Thompson Hospitality Group—a nearly $1 billion corporation and one of the largest minority-owned food service providers in America. Founded in 1992 by Warren M. Thompson (President & Chairman), Thompson Hospitality is a family operation with Benita Thompson-Byas (his spouse) as Senior VP & Vice Chairman. And their political history? That’s where eyebrows raise. 📑 Federal Election Commission records reveal major Democrat donations by the Thompson family and their business including: 💵 $2,000 to Tim Kaine (D-VA) in 2005 💵 $2,000 to Adrian Fenty (D-DC) in 2010 💵 $250 to Barack Obama (D) in 2012 💵 $1,000 to Justin Fairfax (D-VA) in 2017 💵 A whopping $50,000 to Terry McAuliffe (D-VA) in 2021 So while Trump’s gesture of feeding the troops was undeniably generous, the exclusive twist is that the money went straight into the pockets of a company with a long history of bankrolling Democrat politicians. 👉 Many Trump supporters were hoping the pizzas came from a small, MAGA-friendly mom-and-pop shop in D.C.—a local staple proudly backing the America First movement. Instead, this investigation shows the spotlight ended up boosting a major Democrat-linked business empire. ⚡️The optics? A little messy. While Trump scored points for personally footing the bill, it leaves us asking: Why support a Democrat-backed chain instead of a Republican-owned local pizzeria? Why didn't someone from Trump's staff do even a tiny little bit of research beforehand and find a pizzeria that would have been a better fit? 🍕 Bottom line: Trump fed the troops and thanked the heroes in uniform—an incredible gesture. But in the process, he may have inadvertently funneled thousands of dollars toward a company with deep Democrat ties. 👀 What do YOU think — Was this a missed opportunity to stand with Republican-owned small businesses?

🚨BREAKING: Democrat-controlled Senate passes multi-billion-dollar Millionaires’ Tax With a vote of 27-22, the Washington State Senate on Monday passed Senate Bill 6346, a proposal to impose a 9.9% tax on individuals earning more than $1 million annually. Three Democrat lawmakers—Sens. Adrien Cortes (D-Battle Ground), Deb Krishnadasen (D-Gig Harbor) and Drew Hansen (D-Bainbridge Island) — joined all Republicans in voting against the measure. Supporters cast the bill as a vital step toward fixing what they call a regressive tax system and funding essential services like education and health care, while critics warned it would hammer small businesses, drive away jobs, and set the stage for broader income taxes despite voters’ repeated rejections. SB 6346—also known as the “Millionaires’ Tax”— introduced by Senate Majority Leader Jaime Pedersen (D-Capitol Hill), would start with federal adjusted gross income and make adjustments to arrive at “Washington taxable income.” It excludes long-term capital gains unless already subject to the state’s capital gains tax, adds back certain state and local taxes deducted federally, and provides a $1 million standard deduction per household—adjusted for inflation from 2030—and a $50,000 charitable deduction. Non-residents of Washington state pay only on Washington-sourced income, apportioned based on activity within the state. The Millionaires’ Tax would take effect January 1, 2028, with first returns due in 2029. It exempts real estate sales, qualified family-owned small businesses, and retirement income from public pensions. Estimated to affect about 30,000 taxpayers—roughly 0.5% of households—it is expected to generate approximately $3.7 billion annually, with 5% ($175 million) dedicated to county public defense and the remainder to the general fund for education, health care, and other services. However, these monies are not earmarked for education nor health care and can be used as the legislature sees fit when it is allocated to the state’s general fund. The bill starts with federal adjusted gross income, currently excludes all long-term capital gains and losses initially, then adds back only net long-term capital gains subject to Washington’s capital gains tax (plus the standard and charitable deductions that reduced the taxable amount). Thus, real estate sales that qualify for exemption under the capital gains rules—such as qualified family-owned small businesses or residential property—remain untaxed, avoiding any undoing of exemptions. During the hearing on Feb. 6, it was revealed that although SB-6346 targets only individuals with at least $1 million in annual income, no current law can permanently bind future legislatures should a future legislature expand the tax to other income brackets. The bill now heads to the House for vote. 🎬Source: TVW

Greetings, global pioneers! Happy Saturday!🌹🌹🌹 I hope this message finds you well and in high spirits. This Saturday, I encourage you to reflect on all the good things life offers. Spend time with your loved ones, enjoy moments of rest, and cherish the blessings you have. Remember that this is the foundation upon which Pi Network was built a community that values love, support, and hard work. As pioneers, we can significantly impact and achieve financial stability while supporting the Pi community. Finding a job is an excellent way to ensure financial stability and not expect to sell Pi. It is important to understand that solely focusing on completing the KYC process and exchanging Pi to fiat currency, without having a job, can lead to feelings of anxiety and depression. Additionally, selling Pi will not solve any financial difficulties and may cause you to miss out on potential wealth opportunities. As a suggestion, all global pioneers should secure a job before the launch of OM. If you are unable to find a permanent job, consider finding a temporary job, especially in the next 3-6 months. By working during this period and refraining from selling Pi, we can speed up the KYC and migration process, ultimately leading to the launch of OM.✌️✌️✌️✌️ In addition, spending more time with our family can bring harmony to our lives and help us gain their support, which is crucial in achieving our goals. Even small contributions to the Pi community, such as posting "thank you," "I support GCV," "I love Pi Network," or "we are a big family and we support each other," can go a long way in making a difference. If you don't understand why we support GCV, take your time to read and observe instead of posting negative comments. Remember, most pioneers catch up and support each other, so if you missed the class, don't worry, and learn from others who did well. Let's work together and make a difference while achieving our goals. In my previous post, I emphasized the importance of having a strategy and tactics to help you manage your group and community efficiently without wasting too much time. To ensure that your group runs smoothly, it's crucial to establish a sense of unity and ground rules. Remember, the group is not a platform to post anything and everything, especially fake news and misleading information. Mutual respect is non-negotiable, and any attack or smear will not be tolerated. Only share information about GCV education and activities. By following the guidelines provided, you can manage your group efficiently with just half an hour of effort each day. As a group owner or moderator, it is your responsibility to ensure that pioneers study in the correct direction. Please refrain from using fake news to attract and paralyze pioneers, as it will only cause anxiety and hatred towards Pi Network. Education is a top priority. But what exactly is education? In the context of Pi Network, education means helping pioneers understand what Pi Network is and why it has not taken the same steps as Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. Pi Network's mission is to resolve technology, financial, and currency problems and apply these benefits in our daily lives. It's important that all pioneers pay attention and not just look at the exchange market. While exchange markets can benefit some investors, they can also lead to significant losses. If you read what Dr. Nicolas has said, you will understand why he has invested so much money, almost a decade, into Pi Network as a real blockchain technology to help our world and society. He cannot achieve this goal without the support of all 50 million pioneers. It's important that we work together to make Pi Network a success. The following is a set of recommendations for pioneers interested in GCV . Our first step should be to understand why we need $314,159 and what measures pioneers should undertake to achieve this goal. To succeed, pioneers should make use of easily accessible resources and avoid unnecessary expenditures and risks. In this context, I recommend that pioneers develop the skills necessary to become self-learners, given the wealth of information available on my Twitter. I have received many questions about GCV from pioneers through Twitter. It can be overwhelming to respond to each one individually, especially when I have my daily work to do. I advised pioneers to become self-learners and cultivate patience and perseverance in studying. It's important to take the time to learn and understand things on your own, and not solely rely on others for answers. I would like to acknowledge the suggestions of Canadian merchant Mengmiao for the creation of the website OrientalPurpleLotus, which serves as a platform to share my articles and videos. This website will enable global pioneers to access my posts with greater ease. I will publish the website when it is ready. I apologize for being unable to respond to all of the private messages I receive from pioneers. While I act as a GCV ambassador focused on education, I do not have the capacity to act as a global community leader. For information on specific regions, I advise pioneers to consult their respective community leaders. It is pivotal to emphasize the importance of mutual trust and support in achieving success, and I urge pioneers to refrain from attacking one another. I am elated to witness the success of the Malaysia Community led by Mr. Patrick and other exceptional community leaders in organizing the Xin Shan Barter support GCV event yesterday. The event drew around 500 pioneers from Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam, and mainland China, generating thousands of GCV data. I extend my gratitude to the Malaysia community for their dedication to GCV education and barter support. Additionally, I commend the Barter organizers and merchants for their generous support and hard work. Their contributions are an inspiration to all global pioneers to learn from their success.✌️✌️✌️✌️👍👍👍 I look forward to the Philippine community's upcoming barter event on Mar. 10th., which will be led by Ms. Lumari and other outstanding community leaders. I express my gratitude to them and extend my best wishes for a successful event.👏👏👏 I encourage all pioneers to join my GCV group, enabling them to share information with their respective groups. The global GCV group and the Chinese GCV group two such communities. This message is coming to you from my cozy office, where I am surrounded by beautiful music and fragrant candles. I will continue to share Malaysia's fantastic barter videos and photos with you and post speeches from myself and other Chinese community leaders. Stay tuned... Doris Yin 🪷🪷🪷

Joshua Maponga claims that African countries can fix their job crises by getting educated and then “going back to the village” and “starting up stuff”. What Maponga doesn’t seem to understand is that individuals fail because their country’s industrial policy is not geared towards sustaining such. No amount of individual effort is going to move the needle. The idea of a mass of individuals all doing their own thing is intuitive and motivational, but history does not support it. No country ever uplifted itself through individual enterprise without deliberate state policy. That’s where everything starts, no exceptions. Maponga’s message resonates because it speaks to agency and self-reliance. It’s basically a philosophy of individual and community upliftment in the absence of a functional state. But the thing is, individuals and communities don’t operate in a vacuum. Their success is shaped by the enabling environment, or lack thereof, created by the state. An educated person can start an agri-business, but if there are no reliable roads to get goods to market and no energy grid for cold storage, the venture is hamstrung. This kind of infrastructure is a public good that requires state planning and investment. Where does capital come from? Without a functioning national financial system, development banks, or policies that de-risk lending to SMEs, entrepreneurs rely on personal savings or predatory loans. This severely limits scale. You might as well get a job. When the local population is poor, and regional trade is hampered by poor logistics and tariffs, the market is too small, so who will you sell to? State-led industrial policy must nurture industries, protect developing ones and negotiate regional/international trade agreements to create larger markets for you. Maponga’s motivated individuals would be the engine of the economy, but without the state to lay the tracks, the train of national development goes nowhere. History shows that the tracks must come first. You’re not going to “start” and hope state policy finds you along the way. Even if 100 individuals start successful small ventures, how do they become a competitive industry? A lone tomato farmer, a lone processor, and a lone trucker all fail without coordinated investment in inputs, processing facilities, and supply chains. This is where state industrial policy comes in. Getting an engineering degree means nothing when your country has no industrial policy. As I keep saying, no successful developmental state has relied on individual enterprise. There are numerous examples of this. Sure, Maponga is offering an individual survival manual within a broken system, but for individual efforts to sum to national development, you need a functioning state that provides the structure. This is where the focus should be. But he is misdirecting public consciousness. At the exact moment when Africans should be demanding the developmental state capacity of infrastructure, industrial policy and coordinated investment, he’s telling them the solution lies in individual initiative and “going back to the village.” This is politically demobilising by shifting the blame and responsibility away from where it belongs, in state failure and elite capture, onto individuals and communities. Then when hen people internalise that their poverty is due to not being entrepreneurial enough, they stop making rightful claims on the state. Instead of selling the people false hope, entertainers like Maponga should be creating political demand for industrial policy. They should be building public understanding that South Korea, China, Taiwan, Japan, and every Western nation had active developmental states. They should be making it common knowledge that “free market” development is a myth, and that Africans deserve the same state-led development that worked everywhere else. In the end, when you strip away all the self-motivation, the fact remains: development is a state-mediated process and the Maponga message is just a relic of the neoliberal moment when we pretended the state didn’t matter and individuals could bootstrap their way to development.

1,000 police deployed so Jewish families can safely march at Walk with Israel I spent Sunday on Bathurst Street in Toronto for the annual Walk with Israel — and the scene tells you everything you need to know about the state of this country right now. Bathurst Street is the heart of Toronto's Jewish community. Synagogues, schools, restaurants, shops. Jewish life has been here for a century. It has also, in recent years, become the site of near-weekly antisemitic vandalism, shootings, and arson. Police have largely looked the other way. I was personally arrested here last year for doing journalism by Officer MacDuff, who was back on duty again today. I'm currently suing him and the Toronto Police Force for false arrest. For the third year running, Mayor Olivia Chow, Premier Doug Ford, and Prime Minister Mark Carney all skipped the Walk with Israel. They've done the demographic math. Meanwhile, an estimated 1,000 to 2,000 police were deployed so that Jewish families — kids, grandparents, strollers, dogs — could walk down their own street without being attacked. No other community in this city requires that. A small counter-protest did show up, flying Ayatollah Khamenei flags alongside Palestinian ones. This is not an organic movement. Antisemitic signs were being mass-produced. The organizers are among the estimated 700 Iranian-regime-linked individuals the federal government knows are operating in Canada — and does nothing about. Today, for once, the police actually pushed them back. Mounted officers formed a barrier and moved the protesters away from the march route. It was a very different approach from the concierge service these same activists have received for the past three years. Along the route I spoke with marchers, Rebel fans, and community members, including a local resident who told me he knows the weekly protesters by name and address, and still can't get anyone in authority to act. Ontario Solicitor General Michael Kerzner, who is responsible for policing, has been aware of foreign funding behind these terror-linked organizers since 2023. Nearly three years later: nothing. Our Rebel News billboard truck was on the street all day, rotating messages including our petition at If you're not a citizen and you support terrorism, you should be gone. Simple as that. It was a good day. But it shouldn't take a thousand police just to go for a walk. REPORT by Ezra Levant 🍁🚛:

🚨NAFO Please Read🚨You are not alone🚨 We are at a pivotal moment of Good VS Evil My story: So............. as one man, I have made little difference to help Ukraine, like the rest of us, I have done my part on Twitter working my NAFO 9-5 alongside my real world 9-5, donating when I can, fighting disinformation. Whilst trying to live a normal social life and trying to be a good family man and father, like many of us, son's, daughters, mothers, dad's grandad's and grandma's, aunties, uncles.... Normal people, not soldiors. And as one person, this hasn't been much. Not you or me. None of us, alone, have made a single difference. Our Story: You feel week... because your voice isn't loud enough, not enough people see or understand your anger and hatred for Russia and the fucking evils that they do. You feel frustrated because the people around you, such as your family and friends, don't understand why this fight is so important to you? You live in a foreign land to Ukraine, why is it your fight, why should you care, why does it bother you? There are no bombs dropping on your families when you sleep....... You go to work and you don't have to run to bomb shelters midday rather than taking lunch whilst getting coffee..... Who gives a fuck right? But you, NAFO. Have something inside yourself, Love, Compasion, Knowledge and Understanding. You do not live blindly. You can not look away from the fucking evilness of the Russian scumbag dictators. This is why you are not alone, and why we are all the same, and why this is a family. This is why we love and respect each other. We come from so many different countries, our countries used to hate each other and compete, we were in some ways racist in our misconceptions of each other, but Ukraine brought us together. through the devastation of our souls through the pain of seeing what Russia did and trying to do to the Ukrainian people every day, we realised, we are the same and we only speak different languages and eat different food. But inherently, we are human, we live to love the people we care about, and we can sympathise with people we do not now, people we have never met, and with a nation we have never been too..... because, we are human... anything else is inhumane..... anything else is despicable and disgusting and inexcusable. You cannot distinguish this from the start of World War 2. You cannot tell how this is not the same. When good people fail to do enough. And the devastation that followed. But we are here. Regardless of a belief that this would stop in Ukraine, which it won't. We know that just for this one country, this is too much, this is not okay. And that we will never fucking turn a blind eye. Every day we care, and we do small things, small things that multiply, and together we achieve big things. Together, we have been fucking fierce and mighty, a force to be reconned with. Something that cannot be stopped. We know within ourselves that we will never stop fighting and doing what we can. People may not understand us. But i'm reaching into my heart and telling you. What YOU do. YOU the person reading this. You have changed opinions. You have stopped at least one person believing Russian propaganda. YOU have saved at least one life, Atleast. Through your passion of being a good fucking human. You have made a difference in this world. Never underestimate the power of us. We have learned to love each other through the devastation in Ukraine, We have learned how important these people we never knew are to us. Never give up on them. Now, this is nothing, but I'm sure we all know there are people among us that do things that we cannot fathom or understand. The gods among us that started charities, and took physical action, we must always help them in any way we can. You have no fucking idea how much a $2 donation means to them, a £5 donation rather than buying a coffee, they turn our everday money into life saving money. The smaller donations are the backbone to many of these charities, they keep them going. You would not believe the power of many. Please donate and give what you can. If you cannot give, then I admire you more, if you struggle yourself, then it's more commendable to care about people across the world struggling in different ways rather than thinking about yourself. But one thing we can all do is share the cause we support. Give them exposure, and make them understand we believe in their causes. Remember, that in the future, when Ukraine is free and Russia is done. We can tell our children, our grandchildren........ That we did our part. And that we did, just a little and did what we could, but we never turned a blind eye, and we never looked away. My final and personal part. I want to say thank you to 桐生 信之助 for giving me constant amazing media. You have a great team. And I hope you understand that I wanted to use your material in some of my videos to give people hope. You seriously produce some amazing material with a very talented team that is putting out a truthful word in a sea of propaganda and hate. I have joined all the videos I have made so far everyone. And I hope this video as a whole gives you hope in the sheer power of Ukraine when it has its friends behind it. What it can do with our countries backing, and why it is so important. Ukraine will never give up, Ukraine will never surrender. And we should never give up on it. Never underestimate how much your support can multiple across many. Please enjoy this 19 Minutes and 21 seconds of sheer Ukrainian Power and Hope. People fighting for good, their families, and the right to simply call themselves Ukrainian. All footage and video here was filmed by braver people, i simply cut it into pieces and then put their work together and added music to it. Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦 And glory to whatever country you are from, if you care too. We are not just Ukrainian or NAFO or NATO, we are fucking Human and this is what we do! #NAFO

Hard Hats for Soft Hearts For the last several years, I’ve been on a bit of a philanthropic kick. Rick Steves' Europe takes more than 30,000 people on guided tours of Europe every year, and with no stockholders in the company (other than me), I make lots of money. I’ve long passed the point where consuming more makes me happier — and rather than finding non-productive ways to blow this money on myself, I’ve become an entrepreneurial small-time philanthropist who delights in what I like to call “vicarious consumption.” (Yes, getting joy out of other people consuming my extra money.) In a society as affluent as ours with so many seniors, youth, and struggling people who can’t find or afford help, I like to “consume” by investing in things that make my community stronger, more stable, and healthier — it’s my way of “being wealthy”…and I consider this a political act. My travels in Europe have taught me that a truly great society collectively helps each other through progressive taxation and a caring government. But, with our current president, that just isn’t the way things work in the US. (I’ll be getting an obscene tax cut thanks to our president’s loyalty to the 1% at the expense of the 99%…just wait to see how — as a political statement against such regressive taxation — I’ll be “taxing myself” at an appropriate level…and putting it to good use.) About 25 years ago, I purchased some land adjacent to my church, and I was determined to find a smart way for us to put it to good use. Since then, I’ve given that land to my church, and we’ve partnered with Volunteers of America Western Washington to build a vibrant new hub of multigenerational and multicultural services that will serve thousands of people in our region — all powered by $5 million in seed money from me to help make it happen. And now, thanks to caring citizens, forward-thinking civic leaders, and generous grants from local foundations, corporations, and government programs, this $25M project is 95% paid for, and a 40,000-square-foot, LEED Gold Certified building is nearly built. This November, the Lynnwood Neighborhood Center will open its doors. Inside, our neighbors will find preschool classrooms, a Boys and Girls Club, a teen room, a multipurpose gym, adult day care for seniors with memory issues, medical and dental clinics, a behavioral health center, a teaching kitchen and café, housing and employment support, a tech center, low-cost meeting and event spaces for struggling nonprofits, and a multigenerational “piazza” where we can all come together as a community. “Vicarious consumption?” Yes, what a fun, gratifying — and these days, almost subversive — way to be wealthy. I’m so happy to help create this community hub, which is destined to give our community’s love traction long after those of us who built it are gone. While I may be the public face of this project, it couldn’t have happened without my 100 mission-driven colleagues at Rick Steves’ Europe — and travelers like you who enjoy our tours and guidebooks. I recently gave my staff a tour of the construction site, and thanks to this five-minute video, you can put on your own virtual hard hat and come along. As you join us, think about the power of neighbors coming together with the support of local businesses and caring civic leaders to turn dreams like this into joyful reality — and if, like me, you happen to have more money than you need to be happy…think of a creative way to steal this idea.

Building on wetlands is a very dangerous criminal enterprise because wetlands are natural water holding and drainage systems, and once they are built over, the water has nowhere to go, leading to frequent flooding, permanent waterlogging, and rising damp in buildings. The soil in such areas is soft and unstable, which causes foundations to sink or crack over time, resulting in serious structural damage and very high maintenance costs. So all those involved in this criminal enterprise are either ignorant, criminal, or both. Destroying wetlands removes their natural function of filtering water and controlling floods, increases health risks such as cholera from stagnant water, and often creates legal, insurance, and resale problems, making such developments risky both environmentally and financially. All this water that you are seeing in this video is the result of the criminality and ignorance of building on wetlands. When the colonial government left these wetlands untouched, it was not because they did not have any use for that land. It was because they understood the danger of building on such land. They were responsible. Fast forward to 1980, and we have a ZANUPF government that allows people to build on wetlands because of corruption, criminality, greed and sheer ignorance. Instead of expanding the city, they do the most idiotic thing imaginable and build on wetlands. If you look at a city like Johannesburg, it started small and then expanded. That expansion came with employment, industries, malls, and businesses being established. Harare by now, under normal circumstances, should perhaps be halfway to Marondera going east. That would have meant that along that growth we would have industries, businesses, schools, and public enterprises, and, more importantly, a great deal being contributed to the economy through that expansion. But because the regime and its corrupt cronies are obsessed with squeezing into the small city that the colonial government left behind, there is no real expansion taking place. People end up using residential homes as offices. People end up bringing offices into areas that are not meant or zoned for offices. This is tragic. I do not know what it will take for us as black people to understand that when we do these kinds of things, we are hating ourselves, we are damaging ourselves, and we are destroying the future of our OWN children and the ability of future generations to inherit a functional city. Right now, when you get to Harare, when it rains even a little, the whole city is flooded, not just because of poor drainage, but because wetlands have been built on. Water has nowhere to go, so it floods and causes enormous problems. You cannot even drive. Imagine an investor flying into Harare and driving into the city only for their car to be submerged in water. This is basic common sense. It should be common sense not only to the ruling elites in ZANUPF, but to every Zimbabwean. Even those who are building on these wetlands are damaging themselves. They are destroying their own future and that of their children for a quick buck, motivated by greed. It makes no sense whatsoever. You do not need to be a rocket scientist to understand that what the government is doing is criminal, ignorant, and that it will cost generations to come. The irony of this video is that it was produced by the Environmental Management Authority, EMA, the very institution that should be ensuring that these things do not happen. Yet it is the same authority that neglects its duty and allows them to happen. It is the same authority that has been infiltrated by corrupt businessmen masquerading as land and housing developers, who pay kickbacks and are then allowed to build on wetlands. It makes us look profoundly irresponsible and foolish. When future generations look back at these episodes, they will wonder what kind of people we were, people so greedy and so driven by money that we chose it over a sustainable environment in which people can live in peace without constantly worrying about flash floods. The amount of property lost to these floods is staggering. Yet it is a small group of men, and some women, who are making money from this illegality and criminality, becoming filthy rich without any sense of community or responsibility. They continue to do these things in order to make even more corrupt money. These are multimillionaires. They are reckless. They do not care about today. They do not care about the poor, because it is the poor who are forced to bear the brunt of this. Look at Zengeza and Budiriro. These are poor communities, yet they are the ones who suffer most from these illegalities that are taking place in our country. I appeal to all Zimbabweans, regardless of political party or ideology, to think about the future of your grandchildren who are yet to be born, and the future of your great grandchildren who are yet to be born. Do you want to be remembered as cruel, criminal, fraudulent people who did not care about the future of those who came after you? Is that the kind of memory you want to leave? Do you want future generations to say that the post war, post liberation generation was selfish, self centred, corrupt, and did not care about what came after them? Is that how you want to be remembered? That is how we are going to be remembered if we continue on this path, as a senseless, greedy, corrupt generation that allowed this to happen. This is sad. Let us think about the future. Let us think about the legacy we are going to leave and how we are going to be remembered. Do we really want to continue destroying our country and be remembered as selfish, destructive people? Are we so stupid that we do not understand the most basic concept of what wetlands are? Are we so idiotic that we cannot see that we are actively harming ourselves by building properties on top of what should be a living ecosystem that protects our suburbs from flooding? Are we really that irresponsible as Zimbabweans? Is it truly that hard to understand? Do we have to be so primitive and so backward that we end up destroying ourselves, destroying our capital city, just so a few men can make money, while we also destroy the future of our children, and then turn around and claim that we are patriots? What kind of patriotism destroys its own environment, the very place where its own people are supposed to live? That is not patriotism. That is idiocy.

Wildberries has begun making payments to sellers whose products were damaged as a result of attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the company's logistics facilities. The first payments will be made on July 22nd, and over 88,000 sellers will receive them, according to Tatiana Kim, founder of Wildberries and CEO of the combined company Wildberries & Russ. Financial support will initially be directed to the smallest and most vulnerable entrepreneurs, whose goods were stored at the warehouse in Electrostal. The funds should appear in the sellers' accounts within 24 hours. "From the first days of the attacks, I said that, despite the force majeure circumstances, we are working to organize financial support for our partners. We are starting the first payments to sellers today," Kim said. The company will publish a detailed formula for calculating the payments on the seller portal. Wildberries is developing a separate support mechanism and sales simulator for small and medium-sized businesses. Another package of measures is being prepared for large sellers and manufacturers who work with the platform on individual terms. This category of partners accounts for a significant share of Wildberries' sales. Similar compensation mechanisms are planned to be applied to entrepreneurs whose goods were damaged at other company facilities. Tatiana Kim called the attacks on warehouses, civilian infrastructure, and Wildberries employees an act of international terrorism. "The attack by Ukraine on civilian infrastructure, ordinary citizens, and our employees is an act of international terrorism," she emphasized. All of Wildberries' logistics complexes are insured, but current contracts do not cover damage caused by terrorist attacks and drone strikes. According to Kim, the risks of terrorism and sabotage are not included in standard insurance policies and require separate inclusion with additional limits. Most Russian insurance companies are not yet ready to insure large industrial facilities against such threats. This situation, according to the head of RWB, was confirmed by "Rosi Gosstrakh." Wildberries supports the development of special insurance products that cover damage from terrorist attacks, sabotage, and the use of drones, and believes that a systematic solution to this problem is necessary. The company's warehouse in the Tambov region was not damaged and is expected to resume operations in the coming days. Work is continuing at the other facilities to eliminate the consequences of the attacks and assess the damage. The company is also restructuring logistics routes and redistributing goods between warehouses to maintain their turnover and the economic stability of sellers. The service for delivering goods is expected to be normalized within 24 hours. At the same time, the priority, against the backdrop of the restructuring of logistics, remains the fulfillment of orders for customers, which is necessary to maintain stable demand. All products available on the Wildberries website remain available for order. "Our logistics infrastructure allows us to restructure processes so that using Wildberries remains easy and convenient," Kim said. She also thanked customers who, after the attacks, decided to support local Russian brands and are sharing information about purchasing products from domestic sellers. On July 18th and 22nd, facilities of Wildberries in the Moscow and Tambov regions, as well as in the Krasnodar and Stavropol regions, were attacked by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. As a result of the attacks, there were casualties and injuries. After the attack in the Krasnodar region, one person died. The company expressed its condolences to the family and promised to provide the relatives with the necessary assistance.
