Meanwhile, 800,000 Africans die every year from breathing in smoke because they have no other option. And by the way, cooking with wood and charcoal actually produces more emissions than cooking with gas. So their "green" policy is making the climate worse while African women suffocate in their own kitchens. This woman is not begging for handouts. She’s asking for what rich countries gained as they developed: access to modern cooking energy that replaces smoke and soot with a safer kitchen.
