the theory of evolution does not make sense and I have long since given up believing it to be true. However, I am unsure as to the real origins of man. My wife 100% believes in creation and God and I respect her for that. I believe in decency and man's humanity to man.

Yes afaik Darwin only proved living things can adapt to the environment - this is not evolution. iirc Darwin's theory is crazy he said we go through various stages as a foetus including lizards and birds [I can't remember it properly it was at school and it doesn't make sense]/2
