Flash back to 1972. The bone stuck out the front of my leg.. I pushed it back in with my finger. Wrapped my shirt around it to stop the blood squirting every time my heart beat. No adult knew where I was. Me and my 175 Yamaha all alone.

How about Creepy Crawlers you made your own figures with a hot oven and chemical goop.

now they sit in their bedrooms alone in front of screen trying to figure out what gender they are.

🎯 great time to be alive! How bout clackers? Remember those? 😂

anyone remember doing this...

People don’t understand why we drank from garden hoses. If you went inside to get water, you risked the horrifying chance of not being let back out. Hence, the garden hose

Move you right arm to the righ...little higher...stop!!....perfect..dont move!!!

The concept of shoving you out the door into the world needs clarifying. Outside your door were the neighbors and parents of your friends that knew you and your parents. The owner of the corner store and drug store where you spent your allowance on snacks and comic books knew you and your family. You knew the patch of woods you played "guns" in as well as you knew your own house. We were not alone nor were we helpless.

Oh yeah...... and playing cards affixed with a clothes pin to turn your bike into a motorcycle. Every bike had a baseball mitt on the handlebars because you never knew when a game might happen. Whole gangs of neighborhood kids out and about. Now? No kid ghost towns.

Body piercing Lawn Darts and wrist snapping Clackers! What could go wrong?

Good times

Next level nostalgia. I was hit by a drunk driver on one of those banana seat bikes - with no helmet, drug 100 yards down the road, pronounced dead at the scene by the paramedics. A month later, after I learned to walk again, I was back on a new bike roaming the streets. We're built different.

Everybody should see this. There are people let’s say shockingly how could they live like that but yet looking back on it it is viewed by many as one of the freest, most liberating greatest decades of all time. That’s what freedom means to me.

Check the 1970s tune out.

I used to jump off the top of the slide on the swing set, with an open umbrella to see if it slowed me down like Mary Poppins. 😂

And when this test pattern came on your TV it was time for bed.

In all fairness, the first half of the 80’s were the same. 😂😂

LMAO!🤣🫡🇺🇸 I made it through, I survived

@Topmitch75 I’m the blonde one…that’s my bike in the picture! Great times! Life was simpler and a blast!

Evidence of the wild '60s me and my twin brother.

I still have my Tonka crane from 50 years ago.

It always blows my mind how whiney Gen Z-ers complain about how bad they got it now. When I was 20: - The mortage rate was 18% - Inflation and unemployment were so bad, they invented a new word for it: "stagflation" - we all knew we could be dead in 20 mins at any moment.

@PGLPT45 I would not give up these childhood experiences for anything. It was a great time to be a kid!

We had lawn darts and Darwinism eliminated the stupid! 😆🤣👍🏻

👍🏻 😁

This was awesome. And in the summer catching fireflies in a mason jar. That was our science project. Putting a blade of grass between your thumbs and trying to make a whistle.

Me in the red hat with my sick bike on the 4th of July block party!!

If you never put your ear onto a RR track to hear if there was a train coming, and then put a penny on it so the train would squish it FLAT, & then run up to see if you could find it, which just about always somebody did, then you did not grow up in the 60s. Glory to God. ❤️🇺🇸
