@DaveAtherton20 Wasn’t it beautiful before we were invaded by Muslims.

George Formby being the singer. I thought it was nearer 1943 as I think some of the soldiers are American GIs 🇺🇸 But they first arrived in January 1942.

Old men and women there, perhaps born as early as the 1860s, having witnessed and experienced huge technological change and global upheaval.

Didn't it look beautiful back then, and so clean 😍

@DaveAtherton20 War time, yet clean and tidy, put a video of same place now and let’s see what it looks like.

@DaveAtherton20 My Granma told me it took twice as long to get anywhere then, because you had a chat with people on the way......she'd be turning in her grave..

This was obviously after @pearlharbor . The #UnitedStastes had entered the war and we were seeing US military uniforms on the streets of #London for the first time. The #Yanks had arrived! But #Hitler 's bombs continued to fall.

@DaveAtherton20 Beautiful.

@DaveAtherton20 Must be post-war because the Windmill Theatre is proudly saying “We never closed”….

Everybody is awfully white.
