On JV, I learned from our varsity snapper—he understood the basics, but he taught me a hitch in my motion that threw my... snaps completely out of timing. I loved cricket and dreamed of quitting medicine to pursue it professionally. But my parents convinced me it wasn’t the right path. Post-surgery, I couldn’t even walk properly for 15 days, and depression was heavy. But slowly, I started doing push-ups in my room again. Gradually, I went back to the gym. Three months later, I decided: no more excuses. I quit alcohol and smoking, and committed fully to fitness. Last December, I took it to the next level by hiring a personal trainer. Today, I’m almost at my peak fitness, pushing myself every day to get better. I even completed a personal trainer course, despite being a doctor. I’m feeling a bit nostalgic today. I was a 70s girl and an 80s teen. My daily life consisted of softball, pitching lessons, and squabbling with my sisters once in a while. I had complete freedom and didn’t even know it. I didn’t have to ask to go out to play or hang out with my friends. I could take the bus to the mall and come home by 6 and my parents had no idea if I was okay or not. The neighbors all looked out for each other and you better not mouth off to them or your parents will hear about it. No cell phones, computers, or Uber. We were thinner because we walked or rode our bikes everywhere and fast food actually had food in it. I miss it. 😢

I was in and out of romantic relationships for years and always told myself I was just picky. The truth was that I was performing. Every dating situation started with the highlight reel… Lead with strengths, hide the weaknesses, keep the baggage out of sight as long as possible. When I started practicing radical truth, I basically inverted that entire approach. I went into conversations and put everything on the table immediately. Here are my problems, my baggage, how I act… It felt uncomfortable and counterintuitive, and I wasn't sure it was going to work. The quality of the relationships that followed was completely different. One of them became my wife. We now have reverence for radical truth in our marriage and have made significant strides in overcoming our own issues together. Follow along.

I remember when I was about 22 or 23, and I was at one of the lowest points in my life for various reasons… I felt the need to go to church and wanted to find “peace” in my heart. I felt lost… I felt like I needed God in my life. I didn’t know what that even meant, I just felt it. I ended up at a church with a pastor very similar to this man.. and I wasn’t even a spiritual person back then, but everything inside of me was screaming to get out. Looking back now, without knowing it.. I felt demonic forces at play. God was telling me to get out. Eventually I found my way, and that was only because of my journey — I sat down one night and just started talking to God… not even understanding that I was praying.. From that point on, my life changed so much and I began to see things differently, God revealed things to me, and taught me how to find clarity in all situations,.. I found peace. There is no peace that can be found at Churches like this and with Pastors like this… true peace comes when you just start opening your mouth to speak God’s name and begin talking to him. You don’t need a church to find God.

At that moment I heard, and ‘heard’ is not the right word for it, it was like a sensational sound that shot through my head behind my ear and went inside, not an audible sound, but a different sound that increased in pitch and intensity and ended in a soft pop that felt like it was in the center of my head. That overpressure wave shot through my body from head to toes and I felt every single muscle in my body lock up, like being electrocuted. It was like nothing I’ve ever felt in my life before or after, and I thought, is this one of those sleep paralysis demons, because every single muscle then relaxed and I felt like I was falling through the bed and floor.”

Hi guys. I just felt like talking today. I was thinking about how I even started this profile in the first place. Back in 2022, this page was mostly just me and my dog, and I wasn’t really writing posts of my own since I didn’t have many followed and felt like nobody would read it on my page. I would comment under posts I either really liked or really hated, and people could click on my profile and see that I was a real person living in Kyiv, going places, and so on. Over the years, I started feeling overwhelmed more and more often, so it was easier to just hide behind the screen. That way, I didn’t have to deal with the extra negativity of people judging me when I didn’t look polished enough, or criticizing the way I talked, or whatever else. So I ended up mostly just sharing things others captured. But I realize that this way, a random person who comes across my page doesn’t even get a chance to understand whether there’s a real person behind it, or whether I’m even actually in Ukraine. So I’m going to try to post more videos I record myself from here and show you more of life in Kyiv to balance out all the bad stuff I share. Hopefully you’ll like it.

This part breaks and heals my heart at the same time 💔Mingi’s words are full of wisdom, as always🥺 🐥 I was full of arrogance in the beginning, but after I made my debut, I felt so small. From then on, I lost a lot of my mental strength. As soon as I made my debut, I thought I was the best and I thought I was in first place. That’s why those aspirations, that tenacity, and that something about me - my self-worth - was so high. But after that, it was destroyed in an instant. 🐥 I lost a lot of my self-worth, and I started to feel like I was worth nothing. I started to doubt if there was any reason for me to be in this group. When I feel that kind of self-disgust, I think it’s important how I overcome those thoughts. In my early days of my debut, I think I only had a pretty packaging on me. I used to think, ‘I’m doing well, what more can I do?’ But after that pretty packaging came off, I had nothing inside. So I think it took me a long time to fill myself up. Now, even if I break down once in a while, I just go back to the human Song Mingi, and I look for the things I like one by one, and then I think, ‘People will like me a bit now, right?’ Since we’re celebrities, we need to satisfy the people to a certain degree. But I think we still have to satisfy ourselves in the process as well. I think I try to find a harmony between the two in my head. 🐥 It took me a long time to build this up, but I think the process of building myself up, unlike building a sand castle, you build it up little by little. So I feel like, internally, I have become more resilient, compare to before.

I have been trying to sound the alarm on how piss poor civics and history education is in this country. In my opinion, we don’t talk about this enough. I can’t recall a single lesson on socialism or communism in the entirety of my schooling, from start to finish. And I didn’t even go to government schools. And I’m sure it’s only gotten worse since I was in school. I don’t know how it used to be before my time, but my generation and younger didn’t get properly educated on this subject, and that’s at least partially to blame for the rise in socialism. I guarantee you your average American—especially under a certain age—can’t tell you why socialism and communism are bad. We learn about the horrors of Nazism, Hitler, and the Holocaust, but the rest of the education is sorely lacking.

I have been trying to sound the alarm on how piss poor civics and history education is in this country. In my opinion, we don’t talk about this enough. I can’t recall a single lesson on socialism or communism in the entirety of my schooling, from start to finish. And I didn’t even go to government schools. And I’m sure it’s only gotten worse since I was in school. I don’t know how it used to be before my time, but my generation and younger didn’t get properly educated on this subject, and that’s at least partially to blame for the rise in socialism. This reminded me of that night in North Carolina when I was hearing what I thought was screaming of a woman. The couple recording was terrified at what they heard and wanted to document it in case somebody was in trouble. What do you do when you walk out your door and hear this? Do you run, go back in, or call the cops? The first night in North Carolina for me was similar. I had gone outside at night, to get something out of the car. The driveway was long and had those white stone gravel that always got dusty when I drove my car down them. When I got to the car I took my key out and unlocked it, yeah, yeah I know, I didn’t have power locks yet at that point. So anyways I grab my hoodie out and start walking back. One of the teens next door around my age yelled hello and I walked over there to see what’s up. We were chatting about what we wanted to do for the weekend. But his eyes kept darting, I noticed that every so often we would hear a faint whistle, almost barely audible but definitely noticeable. I started to pay attention to the whistle. Minutes went by with nothing abnormal happening and then we both heard it again and it sounded much closer this time. Even with the insects at night, what was weird was we didn’t hear them anymore and it was as if the woods went silent. Being a city boy from NYC I am no stranger to noise and buzzing of daily life but what I’m not used to is total silence. Eerie and foreshadowing silence as if the world has gone mute. It was definitely terrifying simply for the fact that all my life I’ve always heard noise and in this moment of total silence it was unnatural to me. I was uneasy and I could tell he was too and we fist bumped and started walking back to our homes. Even to this day I have no idea what I experienced but I’m not looking forward if it happens again.

Then later on of course the history lessons of our own tragic 1994 Genocide because of the division that was there. The lessons from that, and which shaped me or informed me and many others, it’s not just me there are many others; in a situation like that, every individual in a way you have to make personal even, or informed decisions. Either you give up and break and that’s the end of you, or you make the choice of saying, I am going to stand up to this, I am going to give it a fight that I have in me, to survive and maybe to make progress. At a personnel level that happened. I, at some point, and I know it’s not just me it’s many in our country, we’re faced with individual choices; do you give up and die or do you die fighting? And those of us who made a choice of the latter, that is how these choices [came to be]. Today I am President, I never thought, I never even lived or thought to be President, when it came I embraced it but it’s not what I was fighting for, in our struggle, I was fighting for my rights to my country, I was asking myself questions and that’s what many other Rwandans, girls and boys, men and women, were asking themselves. Those who stood up and fought for that. Later on, when you are in a place like mine and you have a responsibility, again it helps to keep reflecting; would you be the same person to make the same mistakes that people made that made you a refugee or led to loss of lives of so many, and so on and so forth, or you really want to do your best as humanely possible to feel satisfied that you are doing the right thing for yourself but also putting yourself in the shoes of many others. Are they able to stand up to these challenges the way it should happen, maybe the challenges should be minimized as much as possible? Raven was asked when he was in ECW, was the goal to get back to WWE or WCW? “I was really happy at ECW but yes, I wanted to go back to WWE. I wanted to be the top guy in the top promotion. I got to be the top guy in the number three promotion. And for a long time, I felt like my career was a failure because of that. I think I talked about it in the movie, in the documentary, but it took a lot of time on a therapist couch to let myself off the hook. Because you hold yourself to such a high standard that I can’t see the forest for the trees. If anybody would have came up to me and told me what my career was, and it was theirs.
