🚨🇺🇸 Lockheed Martin is developing a lower-cost Patriot interceptor to counter the growing drone threat. The new PAC-3 ACE missile is designed to provide much of the combat capability of the PAC-3 MSE at a significantly lower price. According to available information, the PAC-3 ACE will be capable of intercepting drones, cruise missiles, and short-range ballistic missiles, while delivering around two-thirds of the combat effectiveness of the PAC-3 MSE. The missile is expected to cost between $1.6 million and $2.7 million, compared with $4 million to $5.3 million for the current PAC-3 MSE interceptor. The existing PAC-3 MSE remains one of the world's most advanced air-defense missiles, designed to destroy long-range ballistic missiles and, according to its manufacturer, capable of engaging certain hypersonic threats.
