Awww that must of been a rather fun swim, to be joined and played with by a dolpin, clearly the dolphin wanted to play with the swimmer, how adorable.

I had 3! Bottlenose dolphins do just that to me while kayaking near Calif coast. So. Much. Magic. Could hear them clicking and singing!!!

While it looks like fun, it could be a male dominance display - path blocking isn't that cool. More relaxed is when they slowly swim alongside or below you, or stand on their flukes and watch as you swim over them. I'm not making this up I've had 100's of wild dolphin experiences

Someday in the distant future, if we are incredibly lucky, we will be able to communicate with other species. Dolphins will be high on that list. Cats, not so much.
