Looking at the handguards, wireframes are different & EFT's has holes for the screws whereas ABI's screws are part of the texture, however... Unless these handguards went through the exact same wear & tear during service something fishy is 100% going on 🤣

Wireframes side by side

Looks like it's altered and then baked down from EFT. it's a very simple technique that allows for modifications to ABIs mesh i.e screws being part of the texture. The fact that there are scratches that match the positioning is revealing. Have ABI commented on this at all?

Thanks for your valuable insight! No comment from ABI yet, and likely to never receive anything as they’ll be incriminating themselves during their current “look we made everything ourselves” campaign

The ONLY way this texture can exist on 2 separate models is EFT’s texture has been pulled from the game files and adjusted to fit the new ABI model Assigning the EFT texture as-is simply doesn’t work Hopefully @re3mr @JacobBallistics can comment (far more knowledgeable than I)

Screw holes not present on ABI's model

I need someone to cook up a mesh difference detector plugin for blender.

Just use your eyes🤣

3d artist here. Even if the mesh is different, the uvs are exactly the same. Am I right? Like I am assuming they are using the same map for both objects. If this is the case, I guess the second mesh was "poly reduced" or "remeshed" while maintaining UVs

Oh no, two games making the same exact weapons parts have pretty much the exact same design. Oh no!!!

The main question is....did BSG MAKE THEM...or BUY THEM. Major difference.
