Ah what a wonderful qualifying session. Yet we couldn't watch it in the UK due to a dispute between Bernie and ITV. I was so annoyed at the time! That was a great weekend though overall. And I actually miss Magny Cours.

Despite the awful conditions, you seem to be able to maintain the car on the track. What do you think separates your generation of cars from current ones in these conditions? Weight? Downforce making spray wall? Tyres? Combination of all of the above?

F1 would never be run under conditions like this these days. Was at a talk given by Coulthard and Hakkinen in Dublin a week ago where DC was describing the incident with Schumi in similar conditions in the 98 Belgian GP. He even had his helmet from that race with him😀

You were all amazing, courageous and very skilled drivers. Never once do I remember a race cancelled because it was too wet. You got on with the race. Don't belittle yourself. No driver aids in your time eh?
