Every morning at first light, the Nursery herd walks out of their night-time stables and into Nairobi National Park to browse. They filter past black rhino Maxwell's stable and out to the forest. The route and pace vary day to day. Their daily walks have been a little more subdued of late. We've been having thunderstorms recently, and orphaned elephants Wamata, Kipekee and Daba aren't fans of the loud noise; they've been rumbling in discontent. But on this day, there's a pep in their step as they hurry to their greens! Read our Keepers' Diaries for an insight into their world:

Generative 3d environments just became a thing with the announcement of OpenAI's new video model, Sora. Michael Rublof from took one of those videos, and turned it into a NeRF using Colmap and Nerfstudio. While people are laughing at the topology of generated models, the world is changing around us, and that's exciting and a little scary, but we'll find a way to turn Gen Ai into creative superpowers. I believe in human creativity, in our ability to surprise, to move, to change and to challenge. Here's to the future! #ai #art

Twiggy came to us at a week old and grew into the compound's unlikely nanny, presiding over a following of buffaloes, zebras and antelopes, and drifting down to mud bath to check on the elephant and rhino orphans. She lives wild now, and went on an adventure with a bull last November – but recently she looped back for a visit, heading straight to the Keepers who raised her♥️ Discover her story:
