Sorry for the lack of spaces / activity folks 😞 Unfortunately, my wife has been dealing with some very painful stomach issues. This has required us to go to the emergency room twice now, a GI, other doctors, and a slew of tests. So far they are still not sure what is wrong with her health. The medical costs have piled up once again (seems we have been cursed for the past year), and its getting extremely tough. To pay for all these medical procedures and doctors, we might not be able to make rent this month.. this causes further stress, which just exacerbates the entire thing. I don't like to beg for for help without giving anything back. Instead, if you'd like to help, please consider buying a Crypto Mechas NFT / Card collectible. This way, you can help if you want AND get a Physical Card + NFT for your money. For the next 48H ⏰, all NFTs and cards are 20% OFF on the Crypto Mechas website. You can use the following coupon code at checkout: MOONWIFE20 You can get your cards on the website below, or you can DM me for details. You can also get a Custom NFT + Card with your picture or your pet picture or anything really, if you'd like one. DM me in this case. (Name, address and email required for shipping) I am sorry for coming back to you guys with this again. Last thing I want is to bother any of you with this bull.. It's been a tough year for us 😅 Thank you all so much. #EGCfam is still the best community in Defi, and will always be. I will return to making spaces as soon as possible 🙏 #EGC #evergrow

On The Road With Al & Ivy Blog entry for June 3, 2016: First book trailer for the On The Road With Al & Ivy novel "On The Road With Al & Ivy—Book 1: Becoming A Face" will be released in about two weeks. As I said earlier, I was working on this book and "The Quitturz," and this one was the first to be completed. I decided a while back to do this as a novel for various reasons, mainly because it's complicated to write a book based on real life with actual people. Anyone who's read this blog for years knows that this novella, which runs about 45,000 words, will be based on my experiences. The novel format allows me to include a lot of material based on other people's observations and comments, which will make the novel more richly detailed. The format allows me to fictionalize people so that every character resembles no one in real life. The main reason is to protect sources and to take advantage of fiction's flexibility, which allows me to use my imagination. I think that with any work based on real-life experiences, it's essential to be fair to the characters. One of the things I specifically avoided was not to create one-dimensional saints and sinners, so to speak, so that every character can be seen as a human being with both virtues and flaws. Doing this as a fictional trilogy also allows me to draw on my interest in past literature and do this as a work. I didn't want to do a documentary-style book. Plenty of those are already available for this book's subject matter. The title refers to a phrase that will be occasionally used in the book. It doesn't have one particular meaning. It starts off meaning one thing, but as the story progresses, you'll find that it's a much more complex concept. Another aspect is the story's structure. The original drafts were in the first person, but I found that once I shifted to a novel format, I could weave a more complex tapestry that included other first-person accounts and third-person narratives. I admit that my writing will probably get mixed reviews, as some readers will always criticize that kind of structure, but after 8 years and a lot of thought, it's simply the best way to present the story. There will be more blog entries about the book in the coming two weeks and afterwards. - Al Handa #kindleunlimited #booktwitter #homeless #unhoused #booktwitter #siliconvalley #shitzu #books #Blogs

❤️‍🩹🫂I am feeling better today than I have on the previous days, my friends, but unfortunately, I still feel very tired, and my body and mind are so exhausted by our terrible situation. I did not yet feel well enough to visit the camp today, so the meals were distributed by my cousin, where they distributed a yellow rice dish and also some fruit juice. Things are very miserable here in 💔🇵🇸#Gaza, life is worse than hell itself. The bombings are very intense and frequent, and every day we hear of more people who have died from starvation or lack of medical attention. It is no life at all, my friends. Every day that the borders are closed to aid, there becomes less goods available to us and what's left costs so much it could make you cry, which is why we desperately need more donations if we are to continue to distribute meals for those who will starve without us. 💔I don't know what to do anymore, my friends. We are in a hopeless situation, desperately trying to stay alive and to show the world we want to stay alive. We need more of everything, every kind of aid that exists, and people are dying everywhere from every kind of miserable death you can think of. We need help for the animals, they are starving and suffering terrible diseases and need help too, they did not deserve this miserable life they are subjected to and they are trying to survive, just as we all are. Please donate to our kitchen fundraiser if you can, my friends, we desperately need donations to continue to function. I'd be very grateful if you could donate for my families survival too, and also so I can take care of my sweet 🐈#cats who still bring me comfort in these miserable times. Thank you for continuing to stand by us after so long, even now. I am very grateful to you.. 🙏🫂 🆘️💚 🐈🐾 🙏🫂🐾 🚨🆘️😢 🙏🫂🐈

I began my art journey in 2002 as a mature student, applying to Leith School of Art for their portfolio preparation year and then to Edinburgh College of Art for the 5 year MA Fine Art program. I was 38 years old at my graduation. My classmates called me 'Grandpa Jones', seriously. 😂 I spent the next 7 years working 3 or 4 jobs/100+ hours a week (waitering, art tutoring, charity director, Airbnb host) so I could pay for my very expensive painting habit and paint enough for an annual solo exhibition (that I had to organise and pay for myself for most of them as no commercial galleries were interested in QR code/AR tech infused paintings)... and every year but one I lost money. I was my accountants biggest loser over and over and over. 😅 So, from 32 to nearly 50 years old with my art career being a horrendous detriment to my financial future I questioned my life decisions... daily. But I never gave up. In fact, it was the opposite. With every rejection letter, with every let down and disappointment, with every financial loss, with every exhibition that didn't sell enough to even cover the costs of paint, canvas and framing, I pushed even harder. I worked even harder. I looked for new ways to differentiate myself from all the other artists around me and I invested everything I had into me and my future. Fortune favours the brave. If you're willing to put in the time, the work and the risk you will be rewarded. It may take 5 years, 10 years, 20 years or more but eventually, if you keep working and taking the risks that the rest are not willing to take (creatively and financially) you will succeed. Don't blame others for your failure. Take the knock backs, take the disappointments, take the rejections, and use them to drive you. If you are willing and able to commit 100% for however long it takes, you will succeed. This is a fact and I'm proof of that. Stop listening to the FUD, stop listening to those who don't believe in you. Show them how wrong they are. Again, it may take years, even decades, but fortune favours the bold and this is undeniable. Will you give up or will you keep pushing, learning, growing, expanding your ideas and your creative output? If you are, I look forward to seeing what you're doing, what you're creating and where you'll be in the next few years and beyond. Comment below and then connect with me in 2 years and tag me. I want to see how many of you will still be here working, grinding and creating art regardless of bear or bull markets. Artwork: EthGirl - Genesis NFT & collab with the great ᗩᒪᎧTTᗩ ᗰᎧᑎEY❂

Today is a wonderful day at LAW! 😍 Berani has finally left the clinic and is joining her new family at our Celuk Buluh shelter 😁🥰 We'll keep her separate for a week or two to let her settle in and get used to her new surroundings, gradually introducing her to a couple of the other dogs. She's very friendly with humans, but very nervous around other dogs at the moment. The guy who alerted us to her has let us down very badly 😞 He said he would like to adopt her when she was better and would fundraise to help us pay for the veterinary care. Now he's changed his mind about adopting her and hasn't raised a penny 😢 We're determined Berani will have a good home with us and be well taken care of, regardless! ❤ We never put them back out on the streets to fend for themselves. In 2 weeks she'll be sterilised too. One of our goals is to try to get the numbers of unwanted puppies down, so every dog under our care goes through the procedure to battle those numbers. Veterinary care is very costly, even with charity status discount, it drains the funds drastically 😩 Please help us to get the best care possible for our lovely rescues. Any amount donated is always gratefully received 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 You can donate here: Or, via any bank transfer app direct to the charity's bank account. The details are on our website here: Thank you for your support! Berani and other dogs like her wouldn't be here were it not for the kindness and generosity of our donors 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🐾🐶😺❤❤❤

🙏♥️🙏 Back in 1952, a baby was born at a hospital in New York. The room went dead silent. The infant was blue, limp, and silent. Panic began to settle over the medical staff, and for a terrifying moment, it looked like they might give up. Then, a steady, calm voice cut through the tension. «Let's score the baby,» the woman commanded. That woman was Dr. Virginia Apgar. That single, simple instruction changed the course of modern medicine forever. Virginia Apgar's path wasn't easy. She originally wanted to be a surgeon, but in the 1940s, the doors to operating rooms were firmly shut against women. She was told plainly that no hospital would hire a woman as a surgeon. Many people would have quit right there, but Apgar simply shifted her focus. She moved into the field of anesthesiology. It was a career pivot that would eventually save millions of lives. While working in the maternity ward at Columbia-Presbyterian, Apgar watched something that broke her heart. She saw newborn babies dying within minutes of birth because doctors didn't have a standardized way to check if they were healthy or in distress. It was all guesswork. There was no system, no set of rules, and no shared language among the staff. One morning in 1952, Apgar decided to solve the problem herself. She sat down with a piece of paper and a pen. She developed a simple, five-point test to evaluate a newborn's health based on heart rate, respiration, muscle tone, reflexes, and skin color. She called it the "Apgar Score." The medical community didn't just accept it; they embraced it. Within a decade, nearly every hospital in the United States had adopted her method. Because doctors finally had a universal language to assess a newborn's health, they knew exactly when to intervene. The infant mortality rate plummeted. Infants who might have been left for dead in the past were suddenly being resuscitated and kept alive. Virginia Apgar didn't stop with that one test. She went on to get a degree in Public Health and worked tirelessly with the March of Dimes, becoming a global advocate for mothers and their children. She spent her life breaking barriers, not by shouting, but by being the most capable person in the room. Because doctors finally had a universal language to assess a newborn's health, they knew exactly when to intervene. The infant mortality rate plummeted—studies have estimated that the implementation of standardized neonatal assessments contributed to a significant decline in neonatal deaths, with some regions seeing mortality rates for high-risk infants drop by as much as 40 to 50 percent in the years following its adoption. Infants who might have been left for dead in the past were suddenly being resuscitated and kept alive. When people asked her how she managed to thrive in a world that didn't want her there, she would offer a small, knowing smile. She once explained her resilience by saying: «Women are like tea bags—you never know how strong they are until they're in hot water.» Dr. Virginia Apgar passed away in 1974, but her work remains invisible yet essential. Every two seconds, somewhere on this planet, a baby takes its first breath. In that moment, a doctor or a nurse silently calculates a score. That number is a tribute to a woman who refused to give up—not on the babies, and certainly not on herself. vision, and a refusal to back down can rewrite the future. She taught us that your circumstances don't define your impact; your actions do. Most people will never know the name of the woman behind the score they receive at birth. But every life she helped save is living proof that you don't need fame to be a hero—you just need to leave the world better than you found it 🙏♥️🙏

We’re Just $11,000 Away from Reaching Our Goal! Help Us Equip Engineering Units in Ukraine 🚜 Please, I'm reaching out to ask for your support in completing this fundraiser. Every bit of help brings the brave people of Ukraine closer to survival. If you're unable to donate, that’s perfectly okay—times are tough for everyone. A retweet, comment, like, or even just a visit to my profile can make a huge difference by helping this message reach others. Why is this fundraiser so important? Here’s what your support will make possible: 1⃣ Fortifications: Building fortifications is a backbreaking process. It requires digging, layering logs, and stabilizing structures, which is incredibly labor-intensive by hand. With crane trucks and excavators, we can build stronger and deeper defenses faster, ensuring better protection for our troops. 2⃣ Logistics & Transport: These engineering vehicles aren’t just for construction—they’re also vital for delivering supplies like food, water, clothing, drones, and ammunition. With a loader crane, a single operator can do the work of 10 people, speeding up loading and unloading tasks that are critical in warzones. 3⃣ Ammunition Recovery & Demining: One of the trucks funded through this campaign will be sent to a recycling unit for unexploded ordnance. There, recovered ammo will be repurposed for FPV drones and other defense initiatives, helping Ukraine make the most of every resource. 4⃣ Maximizing Manpower: Ukraine's population is smaller than Russia's, meaning we have to do more with fewer people. These machines allow one operator to handle the work of 20 or more soldiers—whether it’s excavating, transporting materials, or recovering unexploded munitions. We are so close to making this happen! 🔗 Donation Link: Thank you for your support. Every dollar, share, or bit of engagement makes a real impact. Let's finish this together and help Ukraine stand strong! 💙💛
