Wait are they allowed to use the whole glide thing? Like that the whole reason palworld lost that ability T_T

To my understanding, Palworld removed it to reduce the chances of their game getting shut down. It was removed before anything could be done about the patent violation. I could be wrong but It's been in this game since it launched last year in China and nothing has been done about it. I'm sure Nintendo doesn't want the smoke with Tencent because they have the money to fight back harder than Palworld.

@NightsDarkus Actually Nintendo challenged Palworld because they’re both Japanese companies and they fought in Japan court. This game is made from Chinese developer company. Nintendo can’t touch any Chinese developed games. Plenty of the CN games have gliding.

Just looked it up. This is half correct. As I said, Palworld removed the feature before a verdict was reached for the possible infringement to prevent any delays in their development. Nintendo hadn’t won anything at the time of the change but the threat of them possibly winning and causing any delays or prevention to continue development was what drove the change. As for the CN game thing, you’re correct… till they release the game outside of China which they intend to do as they announced we will see the game at Gamescom on their official Twitter.

I see what you’re trying to say but the infringement suit itself isn’t the reason they removed it. They may have been able to keep gliding from pets in the game and Nintendo may have still lost. They removed the feature to keep the infringement locked to previous versions of the game so it wouldn’t affect future development which could result in the game being shut down. It was a protection measure in case the worst happened. That’s why it’s half correct. The reason I said half right is because there’s a possibility they could’ve won without removing the feature. They had good evidence that previous games used the feature before Nintendo filed the patent which means Nintendo shouldn’t have owned the patent in the first place.

@NightsDarkus If it wasn’t for the lawsuit, they would’ve changed it. No matter how u spin this, the lawsuit is what made Palworld change it. They even said in Q&A interview articles when they did change it. They didn’t mention Nintendo specifically but everyone knows it.
