I think it’s time to talk about it 🙂‍↕️ I was delaying it because the scene messed me up in every possible way. From the moment he entered the room panting in anger, to the moment he subconsciously hid her behind his back to protect her when he heard the Kordağlıs were coming. When he entered the room like that (and he even knocked, but… since when does Serhat knock? 🌚), he scared her, because a part of her knew exactly how crazy this would make him. Because despite everything he did, despite the divorces and all the silence, she always knew he cared. And hell… he DID 😭 Serhat shouting “You can’t marry” in the same place where he once told her “It’s your life, I’m not responsible for it”??? C I N E M A! Yıldız gasping, crying, trying to catch her breath while arguing… #BiranDamlaYılmaz , you did NOT have to be this perfect 😭 When she said “Bir kere sen çıldır, yeter,” she was at her limit. There was that tiny second of silence while she was desperately gasping, and he just looked at her, helpless, not knowing how to save both of them from this mess. Y: You gave up on me. S: No, YOU gave up on me. With all disrespect… Sir??? I know he didn’t mean to hurt her, I know he was hurting too, but accusing HER of giving up, when from her POV he is the one who let go? She is the only one living in uncertainty from day one. He can’t expect her to read his mind. When she asked him to say he didn’t give up on her… imagine his position. Everything she said, he wanted to agree with. “I didn’t give up on you. I remember kissing you. I was about to divorce Melek and marry you.” He was swallowing everything, suffering in silence, because in his mind saying that would be selfish. He was still trying to avoid that red zone. NOW. THE MIRROR SCENE. First of all, why is no one talking about how he grabbed her with ONE HAND without even looking at her? He knew exactly where she was. Her surprised gasp?? His husky voice??? #ilhanşen canım abim, if you continue like this, Serhat will be the last character I watch from you because I will ascend to heaven. Have mercy on me big boy 🌚 Making them watch themselves in the mirror was WILD, Ercan hocam. If the scene was 100% intense, the mirror made it 10000%. His hand on her waist, her looking so tiny. His other hand slowly moving her hair. His face on her head next to her ear, sniffing her scent, looking… lustful, angry, desperate. The mix of desire and rage in his eyes??? EXCUSE ME??? He didn’t even touch the tattoo on her chest. He was locking her in place, making sure she couldn’t escape (as if she could). When he turned her around, he kept her trapped in his arms. He wasn’t testing her. He KNOWS she loves him. He was trying to speak without words. “This is what I feel. I messed up. But this is what I want.” But she needed words. She DESERVED words. He definitely was going for a kiss , and she pulled away. Because she is angry. Hurt. M convinced her she is a burden, and he never denied it with words. His silence confirmed everything in her mind. When he closed his eyes in that silence, realising that by trying to protect her with silence, he destroyed her AGAIN! Her cracked voice saying, “You still didn’t say you didn’t give up on me,” I wanted to hug her and cry until sunrise 😭 Then she put her strong mask back on, telling him not to enter her room like that, because she will soon be engaged💔 And btw, I’m 100% sure if it wasn’t for the Kordağlıs, he would NOT have left without kissing her. In my head, they kissed. There is no universe where Serhat left that room untouched after that tension. I tried my best to write with my sanity on! Just an advice 👀 try to catch ilhan’s panting in the beginning 🤤 they are delicious🫦 I know it turned out to be too long but the scene is quite long and full of details. I am sure I still can talking about it with another essay🤣 but I won’t don’t worry. #HalefKöklerinÇağrısı #Yılser

Japan is expected to announce more coordinated intervention with the US to support the yen as early as Monday. That comes after they already spent an estimated $59 billion trying to stop the currency from completely breaking. At the same time, both Japan and China are cutting their US Treasury holdings hard. Japan alone dumped about $96 billion over the last three months, bringing their pile to the lowest level since April 2025. China is still quietly trimming too. So the picture looks like this: Japan is spending massive amounts defending the yen… while also reducing its exposure to US debt. The US is helping defend the yen… partly because a disorderly move could force even more Treasury selling and push yields higher. And the two biggest foreign holders of US debt are both lightening their positions at the same time. This doesn’t feel like a simple one-off currency defense anymore. It feels like the pressure is showing up in multiple places at once. That’s part of why having some cash and looking at gold matters more right now. When major countries are defending their currencies and reducing their US debt holdings at the same time, the system is showing stress from more than one direction. Cash gives you room to move. Gold is what central banks themselves keep stacking when they want protection. China’s central bank has been buying for around 20 straight months. In June alone they added about 15 tonnes one of their bigger monthly buys recently and official reserves are now over 2,300 tonnes. They’re not doing that for no reason. And gold itself has pulled back hard from its earlier highs this year, so you’re not chasing the top. Most people will treat the yen intervention and the Treasury selling as two different stories. I’m looking at them as part of the same picture. This one matters. #Gold $JPY #Kospi

So, life update that worries me... Didn't sleep well last night. Was too worried if this drunk and drugged-up native was going to come back. My daughter took the garbage out and forgot to lock the door when she came inside. This guy showed up about 10 minutes later, and walked into my house. We were both just in our sleep shirts, relaxing, she in the living room and I was in ny bedroom working on an article Im posting shortly. I came scrambling out of my bedroom and found this guy plastered drunk standing in my kitchen. I immediately forced him out the door into the porch and closed the door behind me, putting myself between him and the door. He was so drunk he couldn't speak words, just mumbled. I calmly told him to get lost. He just smiled and stared at me with all his tear drop tattoos next to his eyes scrunching up. I told him again to leave. He stood there looking stupid. Finally I told him if he didnt leave I would call the cops, then I turned around, went inside, locked the door and retrieved my firearm. I had enough time to load ammo into a clip, get the trigger lock off my firearm and get back to the front of the house to find him sitting in the car still. I was waiting to see if he was leaving, or coming back. Because he gave off a vibe that he was willing to get violent for whatever he was pursuing. Just after Dave died, a white vehicle showed up and parked next door on the road at the abandoned property. A man came to my door and kept trying to get me to go to his vehicle to "look at something". Of course I didnt go with him, but it was enough to get me to hire an electrician to install the security cameras, especially after my kid's bow was stolen. I have 3 more cameras to go up still. But since Dave passed away I have to hire people to do these things and, well, its not cheap or easy and definitely hard to find someone with the time in their schedule to fit me in. I showed this video clip to a person I know here in town, who informed me this guy and his friend were revived multiple times over the weekend from fentanyl overdoses. All I know is the guy was so plastered if I lit a match while he talked he would have become a human mmolatov.i have no idea who drove him. As soon as the snow is gone, I will be fortifying my property like its a military compound so the next time one of these fuckers shows up word will spread real quick not to mess with "The Widow" as I've learned I am called in this town. Yes, I filed a police report and yes, I have passed on the footage to RCMP.

"His name was Daniel. He was 34. He made my coffee every morning before I woke up. Not because I asked. Because he knew I needed it before I could be a person. He forgot his work bag Monday. Called me from the car laughing about it. That was the last time I heard his voice just being his voice. Not a recording. Not a voicemail I play with the volume low so I don't fall apart. Just him. In a car. Laughing about a bag. The bag is still by the door. I can't move it. I can't move anything. Max and Buddy haven't moved either. Four days at that door. Barely eating. Wouldn't come to bed. Just sitting there waiting for a Monday to finish the way Mondays always finish. My sister came Friday morning. She called me from outside because she couldn't make herself use her key. She said — "I can see them through the window. They're still there. How do I come in?" I didn't have an answer. When she opened the door they stood in the doorway a long time. Just looking out at the morning. My daughter came and stood beside me in the hallway. She's four. She looked at the dogs and said — "Are they looking for Daddy?" I said yes. Because it was true. Because it was the only true thing I had left that morning. She nodded — the way four-year-olds nod when they're deciding to accept something too big for them — and walked to the doorway and sat down on the floor between them. The three of them looked out at the morning together. I took a picture. I will keep it until I die. Daniel. Max and Buddy looked for you all week. Your daughter sat with them when they finally had to stop. We are still here. We don't know how yet. But we are. Drop a ❤️ for Daniel. Share this for every person who said love you quickly over their shoulder this morning — meaning it completely, not knowing. Say it slowly today. Turn around. Say the slow version. They deserve the slow version too. If someone you love is still here, tell them **"I love you."** Slow down and let them hear it. If you're missing someone today, leave their first name in the comments. If it's too hard, just leave a ❤️. You are not alone. If this story touched your heart, share it with someone you love. Life can change in a moment. Never leave love unsaid.

Norfolk Commonwealth’s Soros-backed Attorney Ramin Fatehi ridiculously blames the lack of gun control for the shooting at Old Dominion University in Virginia on Thursday: “We live in a country where people care more about guns than they care about six-year-old children. They care more about guns than they care about synagogue worshippers. And they care more about guns than they do about college students. What that means is it does not matter how hard President Hemphill works, how hard the chiefs work, somebody will be a victim eventually. It is a matter of time. And until there is the political will to break the spell of the cult of gun absolutism, you will see more incidents like this. So if you’re looking for somebody to blame, don’t look at anybody up here. Look at our lawmakers who don’t have the courage to implement sensible gun control measures. Look to a Supreme Court that enables them. And do something about it.” Fatehi doesn’t mention the ISIS-inspired shooting suspect, 36-year-old Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, in this rant. Jalloh got out of jail a little over a year ago after pleading guilty to trying to help ISIS. On Thursday, he pulled out a gun, yelled “Allahu Akbar,” and opened fire on the class. Jalloh shot the class instructor, ROTC Professor of Military Science Lt. Col. Brandon Shah, who later died at the hospital. Jalloh wounded two others before the students subdued and ultimately killed him. Attorney Fatehi doesn’t blame Jalloh for his acts of evil. That would be too sensible.

My Girlfriend Gave Me An HIV; Not Sure Where To Go From Here ( Should We Stay Together?) Caller (Tim):so my question is, my girlfriend gave me a... a quite serious STD, and my parents found out about this. They are now against our relationship saying that it's a way that God is showing that this relationship was not meant to be. Um, I've been fighting this like against my parents. And my question is, has... is there too much that has happened for this relationship to work? Uh, or am I trying too hard to make it work? Dr. John Delony: Bro, there's a lot going on here, man. Whole lot. Um, before I dig in, let's... let me just... let's just have a conversation so I can get to know you for a second. Is that cool? Caller: Okay, yeah. Dr. John Delony: Um, you sound a little bit nervous. Are you nervous, or is this just weird? Or, I realize you're calling a stranger being like, "Yeah, I got an STI from this woman that I love." This whole thing's kind of weird. Caller: Well, no. This is basically the first person outside of this situation that I've talked to, so... Dr. John Delony: Gotcha. Well, dude, I'm... I'm grateful for the trust. It sounds like there's a lot, lot going on here. Um, tell me about you. How old are you? What do you do for a living? All that kind of stuff. Caller: Uh, 27. Um, uh, going to... uh, studying nursing. Dr. John Delony: Okay. Caller: And, uh, just about to graduate here. Dr. John Delony: So, congratulations on that. Um, do you live at home? Caller: No, I don't. Dr. John Delony: Okay. So, what kind of STI did you get? Caller: Uh, HIV. Dr. John Delony: Okay. So, you've got HIV. Okay, so I was wondering if this was... The... my first question was why in the world do your parents know? Um, if I'm 27, the last people on planet Earth I would call and tell I have an STI is my parents. But, um, HIV is super serious. What is your, um, health prognosis? Caller: it's... so, I guess the situation gets a little bit more difficult because, my dad does computer diagnostics, and he was able to accidentally kind of find out I have this, and so I am... Dr. John Delony: Accidentally kind of? What does that mean? Caller: Meaning he wasn't expecting it. He wasn't looking for it. It was just kind of came up when, uh, he was doing the... I regularly do checkups. He's a... a doctor. Dr. John Delony: Oh, so he's a doctor at the place where you went to get checked out, and he discovered through the computer system that his son has HIV? Caller: Yes. it's a... alternative medicine that he does, and so it's... it's a very different kind from modern medicine, so it's just the way that he found out. Um, I just go to my dad for all his, checkups. Dr. John Delony: Yeah. What a mess. Okay, so tell me about this person that you're dating. Caller: Um, so... um... I guess what... uh, what would you like to know about her? Dr. John Delony: Well, just tell me about her. Caller: Well, uh, she's a... she's a nurse. Um, and, uh, Illinois, and, um... This is the second, uh, serious relationship she's had. Dr. John Delony: Okay. Caller: Uh, for me, it's... um, maybe the first serious relationship for me. Dr. John Delony: Okay. Caller: Um, and so, she's... I mean, she grew up in a Christian family. She's... um... Dr. John Delony: Did she knowingly... knowingly give you HIV? Caller: No, she didn't know about it. Dr. John Delony: Okay. Is she the first person you've ever slept with? Caller: Yes. Dr. John Delony: Okay. How long have y'all been together?

I wanted to say thank you to everyone for all of the kind comments & words about my dog Odom. He’s a fighter & I’m enjoying every moment I can. With his cancer diagnosis last week, I’ve been having a hard time & struggling with the thought of running the Disney World Marathon. I had put so much work & training into it, but I wasn’t as excited to do it because I’ve been sad about Odom. He’s been with me through so much, & it almost felt selfish to run. But I committed to the race, and got up early on Sunday morning to get ready. Being earlier than I typically wake up, I let the dogs go outside instead of taking them for a walk. As I headed out the door, Odom ran to it, & looked at me like he was saying, “We aren’t going for our walk?” He’s 15 years old, sick & at that moment, with his big floppy tail wagging, he wanted to go for a walk. I couldn’t believe it. He looked exactly the same to me as when I first got him from the Edmonton Humane Society society at 6 months old. That was him saying, “If I got the energy to get up & keep going, you should too.” The entire race, with every struggle, pain and negative thought that came into my head, I thought of Odom & his tail wagging in the morning wanting to go for a walk. Not only did it get me through the race, he gave me energy I didn’t know I had. While running, I thought of Odom & his enthusiasm in the morning, & seeing my family at the end. Those 2 thoughts got me to the finish line. At the beginning of the race, a runner had shared how she’d been dealing with cancer for years, & postponed a treatment to this week so she could run the entire marathon. She then encouraged others to run their best race. I was amazed by her strength. It reminded me of the quote, “Kindness is lending your strength instead of reminding others of their weakness.” Often, others are going through tough times and still give their energy to cheer on others. When things get hard, ask yourself what & who is getting you to your finish line, whatever your race may be. With stiff legs, Odom, Cooper & I got our walk in before going to bed. Seeing their tails wagging was the perfect end to my day.

SUPACELL REVIEW 🍿 - THIS SHOW WAS AMAZING . A black superhero show with a great storyline & a great cast ! 6 EPISODES IS WAY TOO SHORT & SHOULD BE A CRIME !! - Dionne was making me mad 🙄 girl how many times does he have to tell you to go home . You don’t have no powers . You watching all the action from the car like it’s a drive in movie in 3D - Michael had terrible communication cause why is it so hard for you to say “baby I’m trying to save your life” lmaoooo - Tazer needs to be called “KNIFER” because he love that knife 🔪 he hardheaded tho . WATCH: Joy Reid and Jennifer Welch SMEAR CNN’s Scott Jennings during Tuesday’s ‘I’ve Had It’ podcast, calling him a man with a “phony” “MAGA act” spewing “disingenuousness” and “this jetream of propaganda and bullshit” while wearing a “flag pin” that “makes you look like a pussy” and Trump’s “show pony” They went onto say anyone in MAGA is incapable of being a “patriot” because only “patriotic” Americans oppose “proto-fascist” Donald Trump after what happened on January 6.... “There’s a disingenuousness to a lot of Republicanism. All of us who have been in this journalism game for a long time know for a fact that most of the Republicans who serve Donald Trump obediently and live on their knees hate him. We know they hate him....I believe that about Scott Jennings. I don’t buy it.” “His MAGA act is so phony to me because I am old enough to remember when on January 7, 2021, he said Donald Trump was an outrageous, sort of outrage upon the dignity of the Constitution...[T]hen he went on and he says, ‘I voted for him happily.’ But what kind of a man are you to understand this man trying to overthrow the government and you still live on your knees? There’s nothing Donald Trump could do that he would say is too much for him.” “How does he claim to be this huge patriot and wear, you know, I’m so sick of these pundits that wear the flag pin on their suit. It doesn’t make you a bigger patriot big boy. It makes you look like a pussy first and foremost to me because if you were genuinely patriotic, you would be wildly concerned about a man who tried to overthrow the federal government if you’re so concerned about anti-Semitism, this man pardoned a man at January 6 that had on a shirt that said Camp Auschwitz. You don’t get to cherrypick when you care about these things. “They’re served this jetream of propaganda and bullshit and I just cannot imagine — as we sat here, we just criticized Hakeem Jeffries. We just criticized Chuck Schumer. What a puss boy you have to be that every night you sit down at a table and you speak for an audience of one.” “There’s a rally, if you Google this rally, look it up on YouTube, y’all, where he is getting the atta boy from Donald Trump, patting him on his head like a puppy. That’s why he does what he does every night. He’s his show pony and it’s, like, you wanna be Trump’s bitch. That’s what you decided is your brand. That is a gross and disgusting brand. I’m a Democrat. Look how easily and freely We were happy to criticize any Democrat.” “We’re not in a cult and the fact that he sits there night after night knowing I don’t believe he believes half of what he says and he still is willing to do it in order to entertain Trump, it’s disgusting. And I — that is one I’ve absolutely had it with. And the fact that he is giving the permission structure for other Republicans to pretend that that loving Trump the way he says he loves him is patriotism. To me, that is hurting the Republican Party” “If Trump is like a proto-fascist, which he is, and you’re down with it, then you’re essentially saying you’re going to align the former party of Lincoln with fascism. Then, you know, there’s no reason for me to respect you.”

Rahul Vohra on how to measure product/market fit Rahul Vohra is the founder and CEO of Superhuman. He was looking for a metric to measure product/market fit so that he and his team could optimize, and he came across the following methodology from Sean Ellis: Simply ask your users: “How would you feel if you could no longer use the product?” with three options: (1) not disappointed, (2) somewhat disappointed, or (3) very disappointed. It turns out that the benchmark for product/market fit across hundreds of venture-backed startups is 40% of respondents saying “very disappointed”. And as Rahul puts it: “If more than 40% of your users would be very disappointed without your product, then you should focus on growing your company. If less than 40% of your users would be very disappointed without your product, then you’ll probably struggle to grow.” 40% may not sound like a lot, but it’s an incredibly hard benchmark to beat. For example, Slack posed this to 731 customers early in the company’s history, and 51% said they would be very disappointed without Slack. One might expect a terrific product like Slack to have a score of 60-80%, but that wasn’t the case. Rahul’s explanation of why the response options are focused on disappointment rather than happiness is interesting too: “I think the reason behind that is that if you ask people how they feel about a product and you give them positive potential responses, I think it invites more bias. People are more likely to be polite. And it also doesn’t get to the heart of the matter which is: how necessary has your product become in people’s lives? If you’re trying to build a company that’s going to stand the test of time, you really do have to build a product that matters and that people ultimately come to depend on because it’s just so incredible at what it does. And that’s what this question gets to the heart of.”

What has become clear with the Sol and Fable releases: Anthropic, has pulled into the lead by at least 1 full cycle — and this is bad. Mythos is already several months old, and while Sol is good I would still pick Fable for ~50-55% of tasks. Meanwhile, Anthropic, has not been resting, they'll have another model here soon enough (and once again tell everyone why its so scary - please, flog me daddy). Anthropic being in the lead is dangerous. It gives them the very power we shouldn’t trust them with. Dario himself said: “Now that we are in a leading position, I, and Daniella, are trying to move the dial even further towards being careful. Thats what the Mythos release was about. It’s very hard to do something like that if you’re not the leading player” He's not wrong. Being the leading player has given Anthropic the ability to push this agenda hard. He is a true believer in the dangers of AI, but frighteningly believes that the only mitigation full control by a small number of people, him being one of them - if not the chief. He really believes that. If you think back on the tiff with the Department of War, Dario reportedly said he would be willing to give them letters of exception to the terms of service on a case by case basis if they just ask — who does that empower? Having Fable removed led to a new process be imposed on their competitors (OpenAI with 5.6). This wasn’t a mistake like so many people thought it was. They didn’t poke the bear only to get their heads ripped off. Nope, its was a honeypot and the administration fell for it. The frustrating thing is, Dario is right, no one can push back on this agenda because Anthripic is in the lead. We desperately need competition to keep AI well distributed. I’ve heard rumors that the Trump administration could try to use antitrust against Anthropic, but that would be a huge mistake and feed the very kind of institutional control that Dario so very much wants. We need other players to win on their own merits. For now, I’m cheering whole heartedly for OpenAI to catch up, but in the meantime — give me another Fable reset please. (Video Credit: Bloomberg)

I don’t know Tucker Carlson. I’m not sure what his hidden agenda is, if he has one at all. Not precluding the possibility because people can hide things. I’m just not seeing it. What I do know is the attempt to cancel him is just pathetic. The logic is bad and that’s why the narrative has gone bad. Example, what this guy is saying below… Now Qatar’s money is no good? Strange our military industrial complex has been dipping our (taxpayers) dick in the Middle East forever. This is how they try and gaslight you. If the Qataris are so bad, why do we do any business with them at all? If they’re not, why can’t Tucker? The President accepted a plane and I liked that. Let these people pay in for once. My opinion, the Qataris are full of shit and funneling money to our enemies. Don’t try to sell me on this fear porn though. The same way I won’t be sold the fear porn about Jews. Traditionally, we liked being on both sides of the deal because it was profitable. Not for the American people, but for our permanent political class and their special interests. The sick part is they act like we don’t see it. The President brings the Arab nations to a peace summit, Mark Levin cries. He strikes a ceasefire, Mark Levin cries. And we’re the ones undermining the President? I say we because apparently I’m antisemitic too. It’s crazy, I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed a more audacious psyop in my life, other than trying to convince us men can become women and the Covid virus came from a wet market. Another thing, who the is this guy with the nose ring? I’m not listening to any grown man waving his finger with a nose ring. He could be MAGA, marxist or cobra kai… I’m not listening to a grown man with a nose ring. And I’m seeing a lot of finnochios pop up in the conservative movement. Then he’s lecturing us about Christianity. Are you dumb? We’ve been putting money in the middles east with Muslims since Reagan invited the Mujahideen into the oval office and the Bush intelligence apparatus make Oliver North take the fall for Iran Contra. These people think we’re dumb. I think it’s time for me and Jason Whitlock to talk again. Hey Jason, you don’t have to say I was right, but I think we should help bridge this gap with historical facts. Royce White for U.S. Senate MN 2026 America 1st, Christ Is King

Most guys do not realize how dirty, naughty, and sexual women are. The average woman is way dirtier than the average man. I don’t think I’ve ever met a woman who wasn’t turned on by public sex, for example. Very few men are as into it as women are. As a guy, when you’re about to get it on with a girl in public, she’s there moaning, telling you to “put it in”; meanwhile you are looking around to check if anyone else is nearby while positioning her in this uncomfortable public position in the dirt, in the cold, and telling her “all right, hold on, I’m working on it, let me just get it up here, give me a second, sheesh!” If you read a woman’s romance novel, there is so much ink spilled on teasing, build up, this sex act, that sex act, the other sex act, that it’s basically unreadable if you are a guy. As a guy, you just wanna get your hot dog in her hot dog bun. But women want to do all KINDS of stuff. There’s a million things sexually these girls want to do. So why aren’t girls jumping at the chance to go to bed with every guy they meet? ✅ She needs to TRUST a guy first. Trust that she is safe with him. Trust that he will not judge her. Trust that it won’t affect her reputation. Many men aren’t good at building trust. Trust is KEY. ✅ She needs some degree of attraction to the guy. Not NEARLY as much as most guys think. She does NOT need to be wild with desire for you to sleep with you. It is even possible to sleep with women who really are not attracted to you at all, but who are just bored (and horny) and you did the moves right. (Or, bonus round, you just offered her an experience she has always fantasized about, so even if you are not her dream guy, she nevertheless says fine, let’s do it.) ✅ She needs to be aroused. You know the whole “women’s arousal is like a dimmer” thing… it’s accurate. You need to ramp her arousal up with touch, teasing, flirtation, innuendo, sex talk, etc. ✅ She needs to be ALONE with you. If she trusts you enough, you can get her alone with you. Once she’s alone with you, if there is trust there, and there’s arousal, and maybe a bit of attraction, you will get her clothes off. Yes… even if she is a ‘good’ girl. ‘Good’ girls did not manage to pass down their genes by hating sex (they are just a bit more selective about the men they have it with, is all. They need more TRUST!). Also: don’t be UNNERVED by female sexuality. Every girl has a tigress inside her waiting for the right guy to unleash it… a guy who makes her trust him, arouses her, gets her alone with him, and maybe creates some attraction with her. Women’s romance novels are ALL about this. Women’s romances in real life are as well. In fact, in real life, women often settle for far less ideal situations: men they don’t completely trust, aren’t that attracted to, are only partway aroused by, who get them alone somewhere. The better a job you can do approaching her sexual “Platonic ideal”, the more reliably you can bring out that sexual tigress lurking inside of EVERY woman (even the ‘good’ girls).

Surprising progress from ~3 months of teaching the 8yo to do "keepy uppy" with a soccer ball. Some lessons learned... First, this skill is embedded in a larger goal that he cares about. He wants to be a better footballer (I hate calling it "soccer", which comes from a contraction of "association" 🤮). This means there is some baseline motivation. This helps you get through the times it sucks to practice. And by the way... It's ok if it sucks (just not too much). What you don't see here is him failing 1,000 times and rage quitting. Probably 1/3 of the sessions involve tears. But you get the biggest gains when you're in your "zone of proximal development" -- the place where it's not too hard, not too easy. It took a lot of cajoling to get him through the early sessions when there wasn't much progress yet. It has to be his choice. When he gets upset, I don't force him. I just ask him if he wants to quit. He never does. I think if I forced him to stick with it, he would be less motivated. By asking him to step outside his momentary frustration and make the decision to quit or not, I think I'm helping him have the space to think about how this connects to his larger goal. But I don't really know. Human motivation is mysterious. Long consistency + intensity, short duration. We do 15 minutes a day, every day. First thing in the morning. I believe duration of training is overrated. In school for example, I think we could get more learning in 30 intense minutes per day than we get in 6 hours a day plus homework now. It takes more effort to do 15 minutes of keepy uppy than it takes to do 2 hours of team practice. And I bet the payoff is higher. Same applies to learning anything. Encouragement is underrated. I watch him while I exercise and drink my coffee. I say "beautiful" even when he messes it up (I got that from Richard Williams, Venus and Serena's dad). I celebrate his PRs. I take videos and I chart his daily progress so he can see the wins. Three months ago he could get 3 at his max, now his average is over 30. Seeing this progress over time has made it easier for him to show up and do the work every day. One focus at a time. We interleave other soccer skills (like shooting and dribbling), but tend to hyper focus on one area at a time so that we see fast progress. We use the same principle in our homeschooling. We are always working on a few things at once, but there is only one priority at a time. Start easy to build momentum. When you start your kids on a skill, you just want to be able to get *any* success at all. Don't be afraid to make it so easy it almost doesn't seem like the same skill. When we started I had him let the ball bounce between each kick. If I didn't do that it would have been so much harder for him to do keep uppy that he might have just quit. You want kids to get momentum in any skill, and you shouldn't be afraid to make the first steps so easy it almost doesn't seem like even the same skill. Focus on fundamentals. You might ask if keepy uppy is even important, since the real game is played mostly on the ground. The reason is found in the slight shuffling of his feet between each hit. In the real game, the quality of your control touch, shooting, and dribbling primarily comes down to these micro foot movements and how they position your body for balance. Keepy uppy trains the nervous system to a level of precision that is otherwise hard to attain. For education, the analogy is probably to something like reading. Reading is fundamental and makes you better at learning everything else, even if what you're reading about is unrelated to what you'll learn later. Students today would probably be better off just reading more vs. doing most of what passes today for "education." Beware of thresholds. The best people at keep uppy are not pro footballers. Every skill has a threshold where getting better at it confers little extra benefit. In education, I think the most obvious example is math. Everyone needs to master some fundmentals, but beyond it's rare to become more successful by getting better at math. Your effort is better spent on some complementary skill where you are weaker. Dress for success. Just kidding. I don't know why he's dressed like a ninja. That's all for now. Would love to hear how you guys think about building skills in the comments. 🙏
