: “That [60 minute limit] is an opt-out and I can tell you they’re [teens] immediately going to opt out. It is addictive! It’s like asking a chainsmoker not to take the next cigarette.”

‼️@RepKimSchrier “Just because you are removing something that says anorexia, bulimia, or eating disorder; that doesn’t do it. If you show girls repeatedly skinny bodies and advice on how to cook meals that are less than 300 calories, that’s dangerous.”

: “Many Big Tech CEOs have sat where you are seated today and tried to run out the clock. They were trained not to answer questions and wait for the news cycle to pass so they could get on with business as usual.”

: “We have young people in the audience. We’ve got TikTok users that are watching this hearing and I’m sure they have their own ideas about how this technology is being managed by TikTok…They can drive this conversation perfectly well.”

: “If you concluded that putting some reasonable limits in place and trying to find a way to enforce them would lead some percentage of your users to leave TikTok…is that something you are prepared to accept?” Chew: “Yes”

Honorable mention here to @RepMGriffith who asked his kids to check on the 60 minute limit and ability to go live. Their answers are pretty representative of most users. (Griffith got confused with the restrictions on the ability to go live versus accessing other live content)
