Why did that pedestrian have to wait at the zebra crossing? Shouldn’t the cyclists have stopped? The person who took the video stopped, but others didn’t.

This video is very shocking . Cyclists willing to smash into pedestrians crossing at floating bus stops rather than giving way to the most vulnerable. Us cyclists should and must do better. Floating bus stops endanger others … especially the blind, elderly and disabled people..

At these bus stops, the cycle track runs behind the bus stop, separating cyclists from buses and other vehicles. The pause on floating bus stops by Lord Peter Hendy Simon Lightwood MP is for shared use bus borders as shown in the video, where passengers board & alight the bus directly from & into the cycle lane. This pause needs to be made permanent, along with all types of floating bus stops.

The loss of amenity for blind & visually impaired people to use the bus independently in Londons active travel schemes is discrimination. The use of floating bus stops & shared use bus boarders has to stop. Access to & from the bus has to be direct from the pavement please.

Thought I'd take a look at the feedback with this one. Pretty basic — driver breaks law, puts me in danger. Expected: lots of support from other road users. Discovered: these comments are the reason cyclists wear helmets.
