You can hit up to 3 shots total, but once you choose to move on, that’s your ball. Padraig Harrington has said he’d play this format as often as he could, and Luke Donald used it on his way to becoming #1 in the world. What surprised me wasn’t the 62. It was what the format did to my confidence. I was playing a new course but instead of getting defensive after a mediocre shot, I had the freedom to try again. Pretty soon I was seeing shots more clearly, committing to them and expecting good results. And here’s the interesting part: a lot of my first shots were perfectly good. Sometimes you need to experience what great golf feels like before you can learn to expect it. My next free compression webinar is Wednesday, August 26th at 7pm CT.
