She’s so right here. So right. People do not want a return to how things used to be. They want something better. I just wish she could condense what she said here in a minute and 30 seconds into 20 seconds or 30 seconds or 40 seconds, so people don’t tune out. She is so thoughtful and so deliberative in everything she says that she loses people in trying to make her point. I think this is why so many accuse her of this “word salad” nonsense. It’s not because she doesn’t know what she’s talking about, it’s because her prosecutor mind weighs the weight of every single word as she’s delivering a point. I don’t know how she retrains herself, but in this ecosystem she has to be able to just deliver the line, the thought, in a way that is concise. Like it or not, people have no attention span anymore.

I do not understand this fantasy of making someone constantly happy. You are a grown woman. Your emotional state is your responsibility. If you need a handler to regulate your happiness, then that is your weakness, not his failure. Every time I hear the word “provider” thrown at a man, I ask the obvious question: Provide what exactly, and how much is enough? A roof? Money? Attention? Validation? Endless reassurance? At what point does it stop—or does it ever? This woman sits there waiting for a man to manufacture her happiness like he is a factory and she is entitled to the product. It will drive her crazy, she will start thinking about it over and over again, and she will desperately work to try to get you to want the relationship with her. An open letter to Aidan Kearney She used you. You are going to prison for doing what she asked you to do, to keep HER ass out of prison. This is not going to get any better for you. If she didn’t mention you on Howie Carr’s, (mediocre at best) little “radio show,” she is not going to mention you anywhere. The only time she has actually mentioned you was in the ID documentary when she spoke about the very thing you are on trial for: “harassing witnesses” You’re nothing but a liability now. The only way you will possibly avoid jail time, or a reduced sentence, is to turn states evidence on the mastermind herself. (Even then you will probably still get jail time, and it may already be too late) You have ruined so many lives, you absolutely deserve prison, but so does she. #sucker

And that’s how you know this isn’t a serious investigation motivated by fact-finding and honest search for truth—because no reasonable person is convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that Erika is a murderer. And yet these people are. Or else they wouldn’t be treating her this way. They are, in fact, wholly unreasonable people. Moreover, Christians especially should be leaving room for grace—especially because we know that our inner strength and hope and peace come from Christ, not from ourselves or our circumstances. So when the world looks at Erika and goes, “I could never do what she’s doing so soon after my husbands murder. She’s not grieving right,” we understand that believers have a strength, a hope, and a peace that is not reliant upon ourselves or our circumstances and is not of this world. This mother said all she got for Mother’s Day was Happy Mother’s Day texts from her 18 and 20 year old kids.
