She is a purest of pure Kannadathi married into a Kannadiga house who spoke Marathi. This Kannadiga household gave up their mother tongue #Kannada for #Marathi in 1950s when they migrated from Dharwad to Nashik. This family of mine has books in Kannada and is trying to pass on Kannada to future generations. Though they converted into a Marathi household, they have retained Kannada flair. And while doing it, there is no semblance of animosity towards either Marathi or Kannada. Look how beautifully she switches between both languages. Proud to call her my relative. According to her, I am continuing the legacy of Marathi-Kannada unison in today’s day and age as I try to learn Kannada. We don’t need NEP and it’s mandatory language policy to be multilingual. We are Marathis. We are Kannadigas. And we have been multilingual for centuries. Was privileged to record these videos today.
