Lowkey, I'm on the mom's side here

Im terrified that so many people support the mom. Are yall do used on the daughter being disobedient and disrespectful that you’re missing that the daughter is doing self harming behavior, like setting her hair on fire? The mom seems more concerned with appearances than the wellness of her child. If I had compassion for the mom, it went out the window when she said she never wanted her. She clearly is treating her daughter differently and has resentment for her, and the daughter can tell her mom feels differently about her. There is no such thing as a bad kid. Talk to them and you will learn their parents are likely a hot mess too. For example, there is a shelter for runaways, its been labeled as the place where bad kids go. I volunteered there and learned that CPS usually gets involved. Kids dont runaway because they want to be bad, they run away from abuse and neglect.

The mom is a control freak. This is a good way for her daughter to move out at 18 and never talk to her ever again.

For anyone saying they support the mom. Either you don’t have the whole context of this series or you are the problem.

How tf do u support the mom shes a freaking monster holy bot responses 😭

Naa, why did she tell her she never wanted her in the first place? Bs sha

Im on the kids side. I was in a way worse environment with a far worse helicopter authoritarian parent and they stripped every little piece of personality from me until I took it back forcefully

@HonitelHQ You can tell the writers room was full of blue hair, septum rings, and overalls 😂😂

I support the daughter. Just let her be herself. It’s just a fashion phase that kids go through in school.

All of them are annoying, both the mother and daughter and why did she burn her hair when she could just cut it?🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️

I support the mum tbh

I’m kind of gonna understand the kid on this one the parent she’s not being understanding as a mom she’s not trying to understand her daughter. She’s trying to conform her daughter into what she wants and you can’t force someone to listen. Also, the shoes like if she don’t wanna wear them just OK fine stay here. Stay here boom Shaka locker. Call it a day. Take the photo. And you don’t even know that her own daughter was a lesbian or into girls or she didn’t even want her own daughter. She doesn’t like her that just kind of tells you have distain and kids can feel that parents in the wrong.

I fucking hate this mom for not accepting her but the daughter pissed me off as well

Yeah, some of these kids just need a good fucking slapping

This show was SO good 😭

i was on the moms side till she made that lil comment in the car

Of course you would. The mother was a fucking nightmare. Literally everyone of her children are fucked up because she keeps projecting an idea of what they should be. The older daughter got pregnant & had to get an abortion and the son is a POS. Let children be for fuck sake.

hell yeah. children need to be taught how to act. even if it’s by force. they can make their own decisions when they can exist on their own.

The mother is an awful character and you will have to watch the show to understand

Chiiiiiii let any mother in my family get called their name by their child and that child’s teeth would have been on the floor.

What’s going on actually here? I know kids can be too much, and yes they need to spanked here and there, but saying that they are not wanted is just unbearably painful for kids….

Its not one or the other. Both the mother and daughter are retarded.

If you're wondering why there are suicides and criminals out there, it's because of these parents in the comments enjoy punishing children instead of building an empathetic connection to understand what's actually going on with the child.

@grok what show/movie is this?

@zee_zhu_ It's from the Hulu miniseries **Little Fires Everywhere** (2020), starring Reese Witherspoon as Elena Richardson and Megan Stott as her daughter Izzy. Classic mom-daughter tension scene!

The same people agreeing with the mom, are the same people who will be abandoned in a nursing home wondering why their kids don't talk to them.

she’s just being a good mother

gotta watch the show , mom is definitely no angel

I was mom's side until the scene where the daughter is wearing the green sweater. Both mom and daughter had smiles on their faces until mom ruined it and demanded the shoes too. Too much, and you could see the faces of the other family member just sink.

Tryna live through her daughter. It’s not about you! Like wtf bitch

If you prevent your child from being themselves, they're going to find a way to force it.

Please never have kids if you genuinely support the mom. Evil fuck

We're lucky to have so much "plenty" that this become our new main problem. I'm with the mom, her house, her rules. At some point, she might move out & find out how hard it actually is. her dress/ignorance & disrespect will cause "outcomes" so privileged she doesn't know much

I agree with mom on the concert. Self expression is fine except when you are part of an ensemble. You aren’t supposed to draw attention to yourself.

This is the definition of "looks perfect on the outside" type of family that gets bullied for being "perfect" when it isn't. The daughter would've gotten paddled so fast (yes, I was disciplined this way too, as a kid) and definitely sent to Christian therapy twice per week.
