That’s a Cassowary. They’re the most dangerous bird in the world, by far. The most recent human fatality as a result of these birds is as recent as 2019. They’re so dangerous that their caretakers have to use riot shields to enter their enclosure…

📢📢Context/Details 📢📢 This is the southern cassowary (Casuarius casuarius johnsonii), a large, flightless, black bird that lives in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and northeastern Australia. It is also known as the double-wattled cassowary, Australian cassowary, or two-wattled cassowary. The southern cassowary is Australia's heaviest flightless bird, weighing around 43.95 kg and measuring 102–170 cm long. It is often said to resemble dinosaurs and is known as a "rainforest gardener" because it eats fruits whole and spreads seeds great distances. The southern cassowary is a keystone species because many plant species, especially those with big seeds, rely on it for seed dispersal and germination. It uses its feet to scour the forest floor for a meal, consuming fruits of at least 75 different types of forest plants. Its favorite food is fallen fruit of the rainforest, and its claws come in handy for scraping up the fruit from the forest floor. It will also eat other foods too, including insects, snails, fungi, and sometimes dead animals. Cassowaries are not common and can be hard to find. Signs of cassowaries include large dung piles and full three-toed footprints. 📣 hope this was informative 📣
