Pocan: Clearly this number just seems to run inverse to the weight that he claims he actually is. I think he said 230. And that number keeps going down, and this number keeps going up. But people understand—if you’re paying more out of pocket for goods, at groceries and other things, that is the work of tariffs. When you’re paying more for things this holiday season, that’s the work of tariffs.

Maybe he thinks he can baffle us with bullshit and pretend China is paying, but that’s a story people aren’t buying. These are tremendously unpopular tariffs.
