On this day, in 1977, we lost one of the greatest band's members in a plane crash. Lynyrd Skynyrd's plane ran out of fuel, lost sight, and unfortunately crashed in a wooded area near Gillsburg, Mississippi. That was the day we lost six beautiful human beings including Skynyrd band members Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, and Cassie Gaines. Even after 48 years since this incident, Lynyrd Skynyrd still stands out as one of the most influential bands of all time. That is what makes them unforgettable. One of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s most soulful performances of 'Tuesday’s Gone' took place live at the legendary Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco, in 1976.
