Yeah, true. M249 is great for sustained fire but a pain with belts and weight compared to quick 30-round mag swaps.

I remember the Cobra Viper action figures I used to have in the early 2000’s were issued these with detachable box magazines. They also had L85 bullpup rifles with silencers as their secondary. Funny how this clip unlocked a core memory for me. 🤔

Even though they’re technically around 16lbs, the weight is distributed so well it doesn’t bug you as much as you might think when it’s carried around.

Still my favorite weapon I carried. 249 IS a beast.
