#WATCH | Chennai, Tamil Nadu: On Congress's decision to support TVK, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram says, "The Congress party has decided to support a government headed by the TVK..." He says, "TVK has got 108 seats. The people of Tamil Nadu want a formation to be headed by the TVK. It's now incumbent upon the TVK to put together a workable majority, and they have reached out to the Congress party formally. It has been discussed in all appropriate forums of the party, and unanimously, the Congress party has decided to support a government headed by the TVK because we believe that the people of Tamil Nadu want a change, but they also want a change which is headed by the TVK, but is also a secular formation. I think the people of Tamil Nadu are very clear that they want a secular formation. So we are only aiding and assisting the TVK to put together a secular and stable government in Tamil Nadu..."

Why Chief Minister Joseph Vijay is here to stay! The whole of Tamil Nadu voted for him, cutting across caste, creed, religion and region. It was truly a people's movement. In just a short span, the Chief Minister has surprised even many of his critics with his measured approach to governance, his pragmatic relationship with the Centre, and his emphasis on transparency and administrative reforms. Vijay is here to rule the roost for at least the next 10 years, and I believe Tamil Nadu will benefit from it. People's movements seldom fail! CMOTamilNadu TVK Vijay TVK Party HQ TVK IT Wing Official

#WATCH | Delhi: On TVK Chief Vijay meeting with Tamil Nadu Governor, Congress MP Manickam Tagore says, "... We all know that in Tamil Nadu, people have voted for change. People have chosen a new leader, and TVK has emerged. The direction is very clear: 108 members have been elected from that party. With the Congress partyโ€™s support of five members, the total becomes 113, while the halfway mark is 118. The governor, a former BJP man, is under pressure from the system. It is well known that the BJPโ€™s mindset, and Delhiโ€™s mindset, is not to make Vijay the Chief Minister. Delhi does not want Vijay to be the Chief Minister. We know the governor is delaying the decision. Although the governor is a good man, he is under pressure. BJP has only one MLA in Tamil Nadu, yet even with one MLA, they are ready to play politics. This is very unfortunate. Stopping a government that has been voted in for change and hope is a crime. I feel that Vijay should be invited to form the government quickly and be allowed to face the floor test in the assembly. That is natural justice. Any obstruction by any party against this change and hope will be punished by the people of Tamil Nadu."

#WATCH | Chennai, Tamil Nadu: BJP National Spokesperson C.R. Kesavan says, "Despite resignation threats by Congress ministers, the TVK simply refuses to accept Rahul Gandhi's leadership nationally. The Congress party meekly says that the TVK ministers and MLAs are in fan club mode. But the reality that the people of Tamil Nadu are asking is why the Congress party is in spineless mode? And when will the Congress Party ever get into self-respect mode? Even after scathing, repeated rejections of Rahul Gandhi's failed leadership by TVK, the Congress Party continues to be in the cabinet... The Congress claims that the TVK government is surviving on Congress MLA support. Why cannot the Congress party withdraw support to the TVK government after repeated insults to Rahul Gandhi's leadership by the TVK? The reason is that, for the Congress party, neither principle nor the welfare of the people ever mattered. The only paramount priority for the Congress party is political power, which is why the Congress party continues to be in a spineless mode."

In the last 25+ years of TN politics, it was always DMK that will set a narrative using their media support and the rest of the parties will just follow up by reacting/opposing/supporting it. This is regardless of them being in power or in opposition. But for the first time, a new party, TVK, has been setting the narrative for which every political party, regional media, national media and Youtubers have been reacting non-stop. TVK MLAs spoke about their manifestation of Vijay becoming the Prime Ministers and all hell breaks loose! Everyday the discussions are only around that and the interesting part is more than TVK, the opposition ecosystem strongly believes it will happen and are in a state of restlessness. This Youtuber who is anti-TVK, has gone to the extent of picking up a random prediction post and explaining the possibilities behind that very seriously. #TVK #Vijay #CMVijay #DMKfailsTN

#WATCH | Delhi: On the Pongal celebrations at the residence of Union Minister L Murugan, BJP leader K Annamalai says, "We are truly delighted. PM Narendra Modi has been celebrating Pongal for the last many years. More importantly, the kind of cultural celebrations he undertakes, his home is open to all cultures. Christmas is celebrated in his home. And for the third straight year, Pongal celebration happening in different ministers' houses where all the people of Delhi, Tamil origin and different parts of South India, they have come here today. We are very happy that PM himself is leading from the front, connecting all of us culturally... Numbers don't lie. Anybody can compare the statistical numbers of UPA 2004 to 2013-14 and the NDA numbers now. Numbers don't lie. Whatever be the number, is at least three or four times it is more, be it the schemes that has come to Tamil Nadu, be it the allocation that has happened for railways. So people of Tamil Nadu knew that Modi Ji, in the last 10 years, has taken Tamil culture to a different level, has taken Tamil infrastructure to a different level. Everybody knows. What is more important is that, in this election year, the sky-high anti-incumbency against the DMK government has to be tapped properly by the NDA, and that is what all of us are working very hard for. The PM himself is visiting Tamil Nadu on the 23rd of January to Chennai, and we're extremely confident that, come results, come elections and come results, Tamil Nadu will come the NDA way. Normally, when a person is losing power, they will keep talking all kinds of senseless things. He called Amit Shah a very bad name a few weeks back. It only shows a sign of desperation, nothing else."
