If the objective is to enhance the efficiency of the systems at the deeds office, one may reasonably question why the existing files are not digitised and securely archived within a computerised system. Such an initiative would effectively facilitate the organisational processes of the office behind the scenes. It is, therefore, concerning that there appears to be a suggestion of imposing financial burdens on the public for what could be construed as a straightforward exercise. In pursuing this course of action, it raises the implication that the underlying motive may be to benefit legal practitioners financially.
