Democracy is a luxury only developed countries can afford. Any nation that still has lots of developmental work to do will remain poor as long as it still employs constitutions, “good governance”, “checks and balances” and other rich people’s bs of that nature. No country has ever developed by unleashing democracy on its economy and none ever will. Every country that has ever made it economically started by suspending or ignoring democracy and by weaponising what they now call “corruption”. It may not be pretty, but it’s the only way. Of course, it’s not guaranteed that authoritarian developmentalism will work, a lot can go horribly wrong. But democracy will most definitely not work. Yes, it might keep the status quo humming along, but that’s it. In short, authoritarianism is a gamble and democracy is a guarantee—of mediocrity. Just look at South Africa. Gunfire broke out at the Philippine Senate on Wednesday as authorities were trying to arrest a senator who is wanted by the International Criminal Court on a charge of crime against humanity. It wasn't immediately clear what set off the gunfire or if there were injuries in the Senate, where Sen. Ronald dela Rosa has stayed in protective custody by allied senators as Philippine authorities tried to arrest him and possibly turn him over later to the ICC. Ramy Inocencio has more.

There are some calls I just cant say NO too: Commercial emergency calls are one of them Call came in at 8am with a major water leak I was on site by 8:15 personally ( I was close) Got the water turned off and mobilized By 9:30 water extractor was on site By noon plumber was on site By 1pm containments and dehumidifiers were going Within 48 hours it will be fixed, be dry and I will have all the damaged fixed This is a commercial office building - 100+ people work in this building. Speed is all that matters I LOVE this work - fires me up Wonder if a robot will replace it?

This is the condition of illegal hawkers occupying the entire footpath, even spilling onto the road. Why does a common citizen have to record such videos and put them on social media? Why??? What is the Encroachment Department of T-Ward doing? Why is there no permanent solution? Why are FIRs not being filed against these illegal hawkers? We request T-Ward Officer Yogita Madam to take strict action and implement a permanent solution at the earliest. We also want to highlight a serious issue — the safety of whistleblowers like Nirmal Thakkar and others. These people are targeted and threatened simply for raising their voice against illegal encroachments. The police must provide protection to such citizens who work for the betterment of society.

When politicians do good work in the interest of the public, their actions will speak for themselves. There will be no need for such displays. If they do not know how to work effectively, they should not be in politics and endangers the innocent lives of commuters on roads.
