can you use editable images to support sheets larger than 1000x1000?

Nah, but you can split it into separate 1024x1024 chunks before uploading. Then make one small EditableImage the size of a single sprite frame. Whenever you want to play the animation, use DrawImage to grab whatever frame you need from the right sheet and copy it to your canvas.
