If they have all the specs right and they're using higher quality modern steel, those could be superior to the originals.

Might be good. I just personally couldn't do it. Wouldn't feel right.

I could, remember it's not a genuine car, perfect for pro streeters or replicas

There was story on these. They say parts usually won't fit. They are far from perfect.

If it needs an engine, there's an engine factory with a fun song.

Gets flown into the US "Weird, none of the original parts we got.... seem to quite fit to anything on that chassis? None of them."

If it's made by AMD, they have Americans in charge of QC and fitment. Their newer stuff is very nice.

China can reproduce anything, and with better quality, if you pay them enough.

Does anyone here think ford is still stamping sheet metal for these. All the aftermarket parts originate from abroad. And yes you can get a vin on it just like any kit car.

Unregisterable without a VIN

Tas's profile picture
Tas7 days ago

In Australia it'll be a kit car or something similiar

mercfan's profile picture
mercfan7 days ago

Kit car needs to comply with current regs so no chance. Riveting a build plate from a rusty original is more likely.

@MrCunnyFunt An antique kit car or replica generally does not have to conform to modern, current vehicle manufacturing safety and emissions standards (like airbags or modern crash testing), provided it is registered and titled based on the model year it replicates.

mercfan's profile picture
mercfan7 days ago

@MrCunnyFunt Replicas are classified as individually constructed vehicles and must meet ADRs applicable at the time they are completed including safety and emissions.

This has been happening for years! You can build a flatpack Mustang. Still need a VIN from a donor car.!
