Hey @iamgingertrash, I built similar @itsalltruffles hubs basically at @BestieBot for about 5 years. My original goal was to set up a decentralized hub for Alzheimer’s, dementia, and those with severe disabilities living in groups homes. It was a personal project so I could help people in my family. All sweat equity, but received an SBIR grant from the National Institute of Aging to work on our AI-enabled camera and hub systems. The entire design was biologically inspired, which no one understands but a few of us it seems. Used custom @nvidia hardware with custom Linux kernels. Byte level streaming protocols between the devices (ZMQ). Custom neural networks. Custom digital twinning and simulation networks. Ran into all the normal nightmares of running local AI in home devices, like proprietary data and signals, too many devices, privacy, talking to external networks, and more. Unfortunately, I ran out of money at the pilot study phase, and the grant was only for the SOTA custom camera and software, which I delivered despite significant project challenges. All this to say, I love the Truffles, I think they are a good idea. They’ll need some tweaking, but could work out well. All the best.
