rosé talking about unreleased song: Q: why didn’t you release the song? and would you ever release it? rosé: i wrote it after the album it’s more like a recent thing. that one i would love to release it. it is one of my favorite ones but and then i only realized that it was such a special song months after. I remember when I wrote it, i was like oh it’s a bit cringe that’s what i thought in the moment so it was obviously too vulnerable at the time and then i heard it again months later when i was completely over that I was like.. oh my god

It’s supposed to be a ride through my memories. I thought it would be fun and a cool take on the locket thing because, you know, how can I take the locket concept and push it a step further and see what I can do with it versus it just being a locket tour? but that’s why we have the heart on stage, that’s where you get the little bit of the locket.”

I remember it like it was yesterday, i was chilling in my flat in Auckland park when a car passed outside of my room because the road was very close to my window, when i heard that bass hitting hard on the roof of the building and I just knew that it was my song, a few seconds later Simphiwe Majola calls and says “your song is on Metro Fm right now” for the first time on radio. I could not believe it, but that’s the day I knew in the depth of my heart that the time had arrived, we were about to take over the music game. I can’t tell you why I was so sure but I was, and boy was I right. Everything that happened after that felt like a long movie I never thought I’d ever star in. I speak this with tears in my eyes, I’ve seen the favour of God is ways I will never fathom South Africa and the world at large. There’s not enough words to express how grateful I am for allowing me to live this dream. THANK YOU

Sad Forever song and video out now 🥺 It felt right to add this song to the Mirror album and give you guys another song that you can cry to/sing on tour with me, so you can find ‘Sad Forever’ on the deluxe version of ‘Mirror’ now. If I’m being honest with you this whole year my personal life has felt like one bad thing after another. I try my hardest to feel happy and okay but when so many things go wrong it’s rly hard to feel that way. When I wrote ‘Sad Forever’ I felt like I was never gonna get through it and it was just gonna continue to be one bad thing after another.
