[RECAP] Suspended EMPD deputy chief Julius Mkhwanazi delivered his account of the night he allegedly instructed officers to dispose of a suspect’s body. Witness D previously testified that an operation he had been invited to participate in ended with a suspect dying after being tortured. It later emerged that Mkhwanazi was called to the warehouse where the man had died. Despite that, he saw no need to inform them or request a meeting whilst they were all in KZN about his plan to disband the PKTT. He was with them on the 28th and wrote the letter on the 31st, without informing them. Mchunu might have seemed composed yesterday, but today he’s clearly fumbling.
