Commissioner Madlanga appeared visibly irritated as Sergeant Nkosi repeatedly asked him to repeat the same questions. He also stepped in to interpret for himself, correcting the interpreter’s inaccuracies. At times, it appeared as if Sergeant Nkosi was playing around with the commission by claiming he did not understand English, yet he would occasionally tell the interpreter that she was not correctly interpreting what was being said #MadlangaCommission

#MadlangaCommission: Nkosi initially denied paying Natasha SABC for Mr. Khawula's phone number. On 16 March, counsel invited him to check his WhatsApp chats and said they could revisit the issue. Nkosi never did. Today, shown WhatsApp evidence: Natasha sent Khawula's number (6:41 pm), later texted "not even a thank you, sis," then Nkosi asked "where can I send token of appreciation?" and sent R500 with instructions to withdraw via cash send. Nkosi now requests time to reflect; counsel notes he had a week. Commission rules he may submit a supplementary statement if he wishes, but "he has himself to blame for not having gone back to his chats." #Madlanga

According to the TMPD Deputy Chief, ANC people name-dropped the EFF in an attempt to secure tenders. Newzroom had a BREAKING NEWS headline on TV claiming that Sgt. Nkosi has implicated the EFF in Tshwane corruption, which was a lie. Nkosi never implicated the EFF in anything. They did not have BREAKING NEWS on the fact that the EFF has been exonerated and they lied to the public. Trash journalism must have no place in society.

Sergeant Fannie Nkosi tells the #MadlangaCommission that on 27 November 2024 he visited Katiso Molefe’s home to collect motorbike gear for a size exchange. CCTV shows Nkosi arriving empty-handed in a vehicle linked to Shadrack Sibiya and leaving about nine minutes later with a white bag. However, records show the items were bought nearly a year earlier, making an exchange unlikely.

#MadlangaCommission: Nkosi explains the bag seen in video of him leaving Mr. Molefe's house on 27 November 2024 contained Harley Davidson merchandise (gloves, helmet shield, T-shirt) being returned because they "did not fit." However, invoices show these items were purchased on 20 December 2023—11 months earlier. Nkosi claims Mr. Molefe only realized they didn't fit when he tried them on after 11 months, which Commissioner finds "not plausible at all." Nkosi admits Mr. Molefe was riding under his mentorship between 2022-2023, well before the December 2023 purchase, and had other riding gear. He says Harley Davidson would accept the return because he's a "regular customer." #Madlanga

#MadlangaCommission: Nkosi confronted about cash found in his safe—R380,000 (his brother's) plus R5,175 (his own). He claimed the R380,000 was proceeds from his brother's truck sale. However, the sale agreement attached to Nkosi's affidavit (Annexure F, signed 16 December 2024) shows the buyer's signature dated 19 December 2024—three days after the affidavit was sworn. Nkosi acknowledges no sale agreement existed on 16 December. This raises serious questions about the authenticity and timing of documentation provided to the Commission. #Madlanga

Malema Cleared as Suspended TMPD Deputy Chief Denies EFF Link to Security Tender List Allegations Suspended Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) Deputy Chief Umashi Dhlamini clarified that EFF leader Julius Malema was not involved in providing a controversial list of preferred security companies for an anti-land invasion tender. Two individuals, identified as Muzi Mazibuko and Sipho, approached him in March 2025. They claimed to represent the EFF and its leader (often called "CIC Juju"), saying they had met with the City’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Gareth Mnisi and were pushing for seven specific companies to be awarded the contract. Dhlamini sent a WhatsApp message to Sergeant Fannie Nkosi that referenced the list as coming from the "Red Berets" (EFF) and asked Nkosi to check with the CFO whether it matched "his from CIC Juju." He has now explained that this reference was only a request to verify the pair’s claims, and the story was untrue.

Sergeant Fannie Nkosi tells the #MadlangaCommission of Inquiry that the massive cash used to purchase motorcycles came from taxi boss Jothan 'King Mswazi' Msibi, who kept most of his earnings in safes rather than banks due to the cash-heavy nature of the industry. He details a R700,000 cash deposit on 16 October 2023, broken down across multiple denominations including 3,486 R100 notes illustrating the scale of the transactions. Nkosi confirms Msibi was still alive at the time of a related payment in December 2023. He adds that a separate R150,000 EFT came from businessman Katiso “KT” Molefe via Xenopendrana, a company whose sole director is Siyabulela Sibande, saved in his phone as “Galito EFF spokesperson.”
