We secure our border because every country has the sovereign right to decide who enters, who stays, and who must leave under its laws. We secure our communities because American families deserve to live without fear, law enforcement deserves our unwavering support, and criminals should face consequences, not political protection. This isn’t about race. It isn’t about hatred. It isn’t about politics. It’s about sovereignty. It’s about public safety. It’s about the rule of law.

“It takes more than the National Anthem,however stirring,more than the National Court of Arms,however distinctive,more than the National Flag,however beautiful,more than the National Flower,however beautiful…..to make a nation.”~JM Kariuki. Today we joined the family,friends and community that was left behind as a legacy of our departed brother JM Kariuki who died for a just cause that there should be equity in the distribution of resources in this republic. His life was not in vain,and we live on with the burden to bring to life his dreams for this great country, You live on in our hearts and minds JM.

It was an honor to join Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Senator Darline Graham, and Governor Gov. Henry McMaster in renaming Joint Base Charleston in memory of Lindsey Graham. The names we place on our military installations reflect the service we honor, the character we esteem, and the example we ask future generations to follow. Few Americans embodied those virtues more completely than Lindsey. He served our nation for 33 years in uniform and more than three decades in the United States Senate, always guided by his belief that the first obligation of government is to keep the American people safe. Across both of his callings in life, whether the pull of duty brought him to the Air Force or to Congress, a base in Afghanistan or the floor of the Senate, he devoted himself to the same great purpose. He served a cause greater than self. That is why this base will bear Lindsey's name with pride. And the soldiers who serve beneath it will find in his legacy an example to guide their own. His name will forever stand as a testament to a life devoted to service, sacrifice, and country.
