Stupid comparison, gun rights are in the Bill of rights, there was no constitutional right to vote, it was added later

In Reynolds v. Sims (1964), the Court described the right to vote as a fundamental political right and held that qualified voters are constitutionally entitled to participate in elections on an equal basis.

I have no argument with voting rights, I was responding to the idiotic comparison to gun rights, not the right to vote.

What about it is idiotic? You agree that they are both constitutional right of American citizens….correct?

background checks, fingerprints, 16 hours of class time, And about $600-$800 is what is required to conceal carry (constitutional right) in MAryland So let’s just do that for ALL Rights…

🤣 Since when is CONCEAL carry a constitutional right? The right to be armed is - but if you wish conceal carry that is more. Thank you for addressing my next point. Some states have more permissive gun laws. The individual state gets to choose - same goes w/voting

Well, in MD open carry is outright illegal. The only carry you can do is concealed. So yea, in Md , conceal carry is the only constitutional right to bear arms you get.

Only a liberal thinks everything is contextually the same, it's why they're losing

Riiight! How are the farmers doing? How is that “no new wars” slogan working out for you? Is inflation up since Biden left office or down? Trump has failed miserably.

Every blue state is losing population to red states, not exactly the America where the left is fixing things people dont run to places that are worse

@EatTheRich01 Way to dodge every question. And the only people moving to red states enmass are geriatrics

@EatTheRich01 It actually answered the question directly if conservatives are ruining everything why are people flocking there?

Who does this appeal to? 😂

You did believed Trump would fix the economy and bring us no new wars, right? Then I’m not the least surprised that you don’t understand it.

@MedicsDontLie The point was not that he would not bring new wars, it was that he was the first president in a Very long time that didn't Start new wars during his presidency. The economy is better than under biden

@EatTheRich01 Gotta stay on topic, don’t let him try to change the subject.

@EatTheRich01 true, they always deflect

@MedicsDontLie @EatTheRich01 This has got to be the funniest case of projection I've seen here.

@CapreolusPygar @EatTheRich01 I don’t think projection is the correct term in this thread, but it sounds like you have nothing to add to the conversation. Next time just call him a fag and move on.

I’ve never needed an ID to vote in Illinois but I do need ID to buy a firearm in Illinois, hell I need an ID to buy ammo. It’s not just an ID, it’s a special ID that grants me the ability to practice my Constitutional Right with some restrictions. So unless liberals want to argue that FOID’s are unconstitutional then I don’t want to hear shit about believing that requiring an ID to vote is somehow wrong.

Voting isn't a constitutional right. It doesn't once affirm the right to vote, and has been described by the Supreme Court as a "privilege" not a right

Show me when and where the Supreme Court described it as a privilege? In Reynolds v. Sims (1964), the Court described the right to vote as a fundamental political right and held that qualified voters are constitutionally entitled to participate in elections on an equal basis.

The Supreme Court admittedly flip flops and in more modern voting cases treats voting as a right or a privilege (see Harper v Virginia compared to Pope v Williams). However, the Constitution does not explicitly protect Americans right to vote; it does protect our right from

being abridged on the basis of sex, race, and whether or not you've paid a poll tax. Otherwise, the power to regulate elections has always been given to the statse which means that they can "deny" your right to vote. That's why they can ask for things like voter ID/registration

Generally scholars disagree so I'm not even saying your perspective is incorrect or unfounded, so don't take it as such

I will happily give up my right to vote if we can have a safe guard in place to have only Americans vote

Why can’t we do the same with guns?

Because guns will still be use for crime even it is still ban the only way to have control over guns is to have more law enforcement and more citizens to have legal carry people who break law don’t follow laws

@EatTheRich01 Your the exact dumbass in the video

@EatTheRich01 Iam not wrong criminal will still get guns to use even if it is ban

@blubbathe2nd Passing gun laws will make it more difficult for Americans to acquire a gun (which is a constitutional right to own one) = Not allowed Passing the save act will make it harder for many Americans to vote (which is also a constitutional right) = allowed Hypocritical don’t ya thnk

@blubbathe2nd Passing gun law will not stop gun violence and voting should be a privilege not a right we should go back to the old way and make it so you should own land the vote

@blubbathe2nd But it’s not a privilege. It is a right. You are basically making an argument based on how you wish things were. Please understand that the Trump administration knows they are doing a terrible job governing and they are simply trying to suppress people from voting = facts.

Dumb comparison. There is federal background checks, proof of citizenship requirements, proof of absence of criminality requirements, to buy guns. It's been proven now that non-citizens are voting, and if your argument is "it makes it harder for (insert race)," you're a racist.

So by his logic we should apply gun laws to voting. Have to have a valid ID. Proof of residency. No criminal background. Mandatory vote training. No mental illness. Just to name a few.

Two things, first, you need an ID to get a gun, not to vote. Second, we need to be able to access guns more easily to protect ourselves from criminals that illegally have guns. Basically just a false equivalence.

You do know constitutional rights can’t be denied to people just because they have a felony on their record, right? I’ll care who’s being prevented from voting the day felons are allowed to do what the constitution says they have a right to do. And yes, I think they should vote

You are basically making my point for me. They are essentially the same but, addressed differently. Thats kind of fucked up and hypocritical.

It’s not hypocritical at all. You don’t lose your rights when you commit a crime. A lot of rights only come into play after that point. Armed felons are no more dangerous than people with clean records. Gun laws have failed every time they’ve been tried in this country

Fun comparison. Remember that when you vote, you have to hand over your drivers license, fill out paperwork under threat of perjury, and possibly wait several days while the online database determines if you are legally allowed, oh wait… that’s the other one.

We already have to show ID and run background checks to buy a gun. Are you saying that is unconstitutional?

No one opposed Background checks so criminals can't get guns, laws against it already exist. Not everyone should vote, clearly there is people Too stupid and easily manipulated that politicians Exploit to win elections, making everything worse for everyone

I support gun regulations but I do lowkey agree with the idea that criminals would steal guns even with restrictions. What the fuck are we supposed to do?

You people are fucking retards. Guns require a federal background check. What the hell?

Here thing the constitution was made for Americans. We are so far only country not using id for voting. From Canada to Germany they say you need id to vote for a reason so there isn’t false data. If you’re not a person from that country then you don’t have a say for that country future. Reason maga agree with this but not for guns is because politicians could have people from poor countries and say we let you stay here with out needing a green card but you have vote for me. Hell the mafia did this back in the day like al Capone that one way he became mayor for a bit. Also reason want less gun laws is because if lawful citizens who obey the law and do what is said and if lawful citizens who say fire arm are hard to get then they can’t protect themselves because criminals don’t care about the law they get their weapons one way or another. So maga side is more right for this and if you want get made tell other countries they are wrong for making people have to have id to vote

How is it hard to get an id or proof of citizenship? Face it, democrats are using illegal aliens as voting pawns and liberals are too much like sheep to see it.

this post proof the point that most Americans shouldn't have the right to vote

Maximum ignorant take. ID is required for purchases of guns. “Undocumented” or “illegal” immigrants have no right to guns. Do they get them? Sure, but the government isn’t enabling noncitizens to purchase guns more easily. They DO, however, make it very easy (and untraceably so) to vote.

This is circular logic at its best.. democrats are clearly retarded..

There is a grain of truth to this. The people that wrote the constitution never attended there be a permanent non-citizen class like illegal immigrants or refugees. The slaves were property. The Indians were savages. Newcomers were naturalized. When the north won the Civil War, the first thing Republicans did was get Black people citizenship and voting rights, which was radical at the time and eroded their support. Lots of white people felt slavery was evil, but had no intention of granting citizenship or voting rights to blacks. They wanted a country with a second class that had basic rights, but couldn’t exercise any political power. We have this now with illegal immigrants.

This might be the worst comparison and I’m not maga by any means. Many guns are produced foreignly and can be bought domestically. That does not compare to people voting. The fix to voting fraud is ID checks and in person. Criminals do not buy guns illegally at a gun store. Retar

If youre too stupid to get an id you shouldnt be allowed to vote

Let’s make it equally as difficult to vote as we do for buying guns… oh wait. We can’t even get coder ID passed… imagine the outrage if we required a background check to vote too! Stop the dumb games

So retarded You want background checks to register to vote…. Well ok

You need a background check and Id to buy a firearms. Let’s do that for voting

What a retarded skit. Every body who can read knows you can’t just walk up and buy a gun, especially if you’re not a citizen. What a tard

We don’t enforce the laws we have in both cases. Anymore retarded bullshit you need answers to?

False equivalence and a dumbass debating the other dumbass. If everyone had a gun the dumbass mass shooter would turn to Swiss cheese faster. Votes need safe guards. One stops cheating the other one saves lives false equivalence

This is retarded. A: Nobody is making it harder for Americans to vote. B: Law abiding citizens have to prove who they are to buy a gun.

lol what is stupid is that you think this is our logic. This is what you think our logic is. It’s already harder to buy a gun. You have to show ID you have to be of age and you have to have a background check and in some cases you have to have a waiting period. That’s harder than voting.

Lol u need a id and pass a background check to buy a gun

You are posting this bc you failed you background test

This doesn't make sense at all. Voter ID and other safeguards DO NOT make voting any more difficult for anybody.
