Crockett: I know that facts hurt you all, and I wish we could get on the same page, but we do know that during the presidential election, Trump would not go and participate in anything if fact-checking was involved because he didn’t want to be fact-checked. We know that Vance got upset during the debate when he was fact-checked. There used to be a time in this country where we as elected officials thought that it was okay to just tell the truth.

Buttigieg: If I was advising President Trump, I would advise him to start by speaking the truth to the American people because when he says it's going to be four weeks and then breaks that promise it reminds people of when he said he wouldn't start this war and broke that promise. The outrageous news that we just got with the Trump administration removed the names of four of our service members who were killed in action apparently because the fact that they were killed in action goes against his fiction that sometimes he says we are actually not in a war even though everybody knows we are. What I would say to him is when I was in uniform when I was deployed, I knew that on some level my life depended on the credibility of the people running our government. American lives depend on him telling the truth even when it's hard.

I mean, I can only say this: I had nothing to do with the decision. What I did do is say, “I think that should be reviewed,” because I watched the play, and he didn’t do anything wrong. You’ve got to look at it. By the way, if he did, I’d probably feel differently. I didn't get to talk to him, but I didn't get to, you know, know who he was. But it seemed like he suggested that somebody went up and started shooting at the National Guard." "One National Guard was lying on his side. They were rendering aid to him. He wasn't moving, but he was on his side. And then I looked at the the other National Guard member that was down, and I saw compressions going on. I, you know, it was -- it was a lot of people around there. So I don't think it was the person that had done the shooting. And all I could tell you is that I identified two National Guard members that were being worked on.
