Vietnam’s most advanced humanoid robot shows off its newly enhanced bipedal locomotion in new footage shared by VinMotion. The subsidiary of VinGroup, Vietnam’s largest conglomerate, emerged in June 2025 with its first bipedal humanoid robot, the Motion1. VinMotion says it designed the humanoid to fit into existing workflows, starting with light-duty industrial tasks like material transport, visual inspections, and basic assembly support on factory floors. The project was backed by $39 million in initial funding.

It features 360° panoramic environmental perception, 40 degrees of freedom, and a working envelope of 0–2.4 meters, making it adaptable to a variety of operational scenarios. It’s powered by its VLA AlphaBrain, which enables the robot to autonomously execute tasks without any prior training. Last August, West Japan Railway Company deployed it for railway maintenance, assisting humans with tasks such as pruning tree branches, inspecting power lines, and painting along the railway lines. Its emergence and application are changing traditional railway maintenance work. It was developed in 2022 in collaboration between robotics technology developer Jinki Ittai Co. and IT and electrical infrastructure company Nippon Signal Co. With a sci-fi anime-like appearance, it is enormous yet flexible, and its end effectors are replaceable. As you can see in the video, it is remotely controlled by a human operator in a cockpit, wearing a VR headset to precisely control the robot's movements.
