I’m so proud to finally tell you my second album Kicking My Feet is coming out October 17!!! When I started writing again, after being on tour for the most part of 2023, I didn’t know if I was ready for album #2. I’d just signed with Giant Music, and I was still figuring out who I wanted to be as an artist. But the process of writing this record- finding my closest collaborators, writing and rewriting over 200 songs, chasing ideas that felt more honest and real to me than ever… it pushed me to drop my guard and say what I actually mean. And that’s what this album is, a collection of songs where I share things I truly truly mean. The response to I Can Die Now has been such a grounding reminder that my music always finds it’s way to the right people and I can’t wait for you to listen to “The Suburbs” which is OUT RIGHT NOW!! The Magic Whip 10th Anniversary. To celebrate, a special vinyl edition of the album featuring brand new artwork and a five-piece capsule collection are being released on 25th April 2025. Includes, a green bomber jacket, red t-shirt, tote bag, ice cream pin badge and a Mr Ok umbrella. Visual artist Tony Hung has reimagined the album’s original artwork to create a special new red and gold album cover. With added foil embossed details, the new artwork edition vinyl is available as a half-speed mastered, single gold disc for the first time. "My reworking for the anniversary edition was inspired by a deep dive into the album’s lyrics. Here, I found more intensity, anxiety and a dystopian edge, all of which I wanted to convey in the new edition. Upturned, the now spoilt ice cream brought a heavier tone, whilst the cone suggested a tower-like structure. The idea of an active broadcast tower, soaring above the clouds felt oppressive and menacing, suitably setting the scene. The final cover art was achieved by juxtaposing the above with the vibrant aesthetic and colours associated with ‘lai see' (lucky money) envelopes; a traditional Chinese gesture, where said envelopes are gifted to loved ones during special occasions such as the lunar new year, birthdays, anniversaries etc. Perfectly befitting The Magic Whip's 10th anniversary, wherein our package contains the gift of music.” - Tony Hung On 12th April, a limited-edition, zoetrope picture disc edition of The Magic Whip will be exclusively available in independent record stores for Record Store Day 2025. The album is taken from the Trident Studios 1/4” stereo tapes dated 15th December, 1971, which were created for the then provisional tracklisting for what would become THE RISE AND FALL OF ZIGGY STARDUST AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS album. The tracklisting for WAITING IN THE SKY (BEFORE THE STARMAN CAME TO EARTH) runs differently from the ZIGGY STARDUST album and features four songs that didn’t make the final album. On Side 1, in the place of ‘STARMAN’, one of the last three tracks recorded for the album in February 1972, is ‘ROUND AND ROUND’, a Chuck Berry cover. The track was finally released on a single as the B-side to ‘DRIVE-IN SATURDAY’ on 6th April, 1973. Initially, closing Side 1 of the album was Bowie's version of Jacques Brel’s ‘AMSTERDAM’, which would later appear as the B-side of ‘SORROW’ on 12th October, 1973. Side 2 of the 15th December, 1971 tracklisting features two long-time non-LP fan favourites, ‘HOLY HOLY’ and ‘VELVET GOLDMINE’. The former is a re-recording with The Spiders of David’s 1971 single. Again, this version of the track had to wait several years before surfacing as the B-side of ‘DIAMOND DOGS’ on 14th June, 1974. ‘VELVET GOLDMINE’ is considered by many to be a lost Ziggy era classic, one Bowie often referred to as ‘He’s A Goldmine’ or ‘She’s A Goldmine’ in his notebooks and interviews. The track was recorded during the Ziggy sessions but was not released until 26th September, 1975, alongside ‘CHANGES’ backing the re-released album version of ‘SPACE ODDITY’, which peaked at no. 1 in the U.K. singles chart in November 1975. The cover of WAITING IN THE SKY (BEFORE THE STARMAN CAME TO EARTH) features a photo of David taken at an early Ziggy Stardust period session by Brian Ward, and the two sides of the inner bags are the fronts of the two Trident Studios tape boxes. The album’s title comes from the lyrics of ‘STARMAN’, which, along with ‘ROCK ’N’ ROLL SUICIDE’ and ‘SUFFRAGETTE CITY’, had not yet been recorded when this variation of the album was compiled. WAITING IN THE SKY (BEFORE THE STARMAN CAME TO EARTH) was cut on a customised late Neumann VMS80 lathe with fully recapped electronics from 192kHz restored masters of the original Trident Studios master tapes, with no additional processing on transfer. The half-speed vinyl cut was by engineer John Webber at AIR Studios, London. Happy Final Space Friday! Lots to update. So here’s the thing… since I legally can’t do a digital version of the comic, I’ve been digging into a little loophole: a motion comic. Like… an actual video version of the book. Still testing it, but Daz Tibbles did a rough test and is trying a few motion poster tests with other characters. If we pull this off, it’s gonna take FOREVER but it’s possible. That’s the key word here. Possible. And maybe worth it. Over on the Color Edition, the print file’s coming together clean. The whole focus right now is threefold: 1.Resizing 2. Color matching 3.And the “Zazz Pass” (if a tweak takes under 30 minutes, I’m hitting it). I’m building a punch list and should have some before/after examples to show off next week. It’s looking really good. On the Midnight Edition, we’re building out the UV Spot File for the cover titles on the front, spine, back, and yep, the shards of glass will glint too. Gonna look sick! Just waiting on the physical samples to land at my door so I can approve it for full print run. Also printer flagged 15 pages where the text bubbles were a little too close to the cut line, so I went in, fixed them, and sent them back. And yes, I asked about international languages. It’s doable, but that’s a whole other mountain would need to re-letter the whole thing. I’m shelving that until the English versions are fully out. Right now, I’m just keeping my head down and charging through the color files. Let me know what you think of Daz Tibbles tackling a full motion comic. -O PRE-ORDER HERE:

Dramatic events today. Let's review what just happened: With #Iran's regime targeting Saudi Aramco today, reprising its attacks in 2019 of Saudi oil infrastructure, it is reverting to factory settings pre-normalization with #SaudiArabia. The Islamic Republic is proving the terrorist regime it always was, hiding behind diplomatic niceties. #Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is saying today #Iran's regime has to pay a price for targeting Qatari civilian infrastructure. This is coming from *Qatar* which has long had close ties to Tehran and served as a diplomatic pressure valve for the regime. Tehran similarly attacked Oman in recent days. Just today an oil tanker was attacked in the Gulf of Oman by a bomb-carrying drone boat, sparking a fire and killing 1. UAE has also been the victim of Tehran's attacks. A drone strike hit a British air base in Cyprus overnight, causing limited damage and no casualties, Cypriot and British officials said on Monday. Has the regime in Tehran heard of NATO? The UK is a NATO member-state. Several U.S. warplanes crashed this morning in #Kuwait. But all crew members thankfully survived. Iran's regime is trying to widen the conflict to put pressure on the U.S. to curtail the Operation Epic Fury and distract from attacking Iranian soil. But given these attacks, Iran's regime is effectively triggering a coalition of countries to join the U.S. and #Israel or at least support them. Tehran was already deeply isolated before this--China, Russia haven't defended it militarily--but now it's diplomatic problems are growing even worse. It is digging its own grave. Tehran views this as a fight for survival, but in doing so it is ensuring its demise.
