How in the heck would gold and/or silver be worth anything in a global catastrophe? Bartering goods and skills are likely the most valuable commodities in this situation!

When the earth tilts, how will this impact the jet streams? Where will the deserts be? I am concerned that the new valley of the sun may be a desert as the jet streams predominantly follow the direction the earth spins.
