This kind of early onset used to happen about 30 years ago… For those planning a road trip to the hills or the coast, be cautious and try to drive only during the daytime. If you’re a new driver, it’s best to avoid the trip altogether, as winding roads combined with heavy rains can be risky.

Supporting Ukraine isn't really about where you’re from; it’s just about being human. You can feel the strength of my country even from thousands of miles away, but you can’t force that on anyone who just doesn't want to see it. Honestly, there’s no point in trying to talk someone into feeling compassion. If there’s no room in your heart for Ukraine and our people right now, when things are this hard... it’s probably never going to be there. Love and empathy - they’re either there or they aren't. Simple as that.

Imagine paying for a massive privacy fence to keep your dog from escaping, only to completely miss the glaring design flaw. The owners are apparently baffled as to how the pup keeps getting out, but a quick walk along the perimeter reveals a pretty wild oversight. Honestly, it’s hard not to question how someone doesn’t inspect the final work once a massive project like this is finished, but maybe that’s just common sense talking. At this rate, it won’t just be the family dog enjoying free access to the neighborhood—pretty much any local wildlife or uninvited guest could stroll right in and out of that yard without a care in the world.

While the Israeli government blocks formula and food from reaching Gaza, and wealthy governments, leaders, and celebrities stay silent or say the bare minimum, it’s people with so little themselves who are stepping up. People who are struggling to make ends meet are still donating, still fighting to make sure families and children don’t starve. It’s heartbreaking. But then you witness the strength and kindness of those who care deeply—and it gives a spark of hope. I used to admire celebrities and world leaders. I thought it would be amazing to meet them one day. Now? I don’t feel the same. My heroes are the doctors working in Gaza. The people at PCRF. The ones who help children survive. The teachers. The kids. The ones who keep showing up, especially when it’s hard. You. #Gaza

a lot of visual identities fall apart the moment you remove the logo. so here’s friendly advice I wish someone drilled into me earlier: run every visual identity through the Three-Post Test. What is it? Design three social media posts in the new visual identity. (btw, you can now easily design and export social media assets directly in Framer) Or, design three posters. (a tip that Jessica Strelioff’s also recently shared!) Then, the important step: remove the logo. Now, look at them like a stranger would. If you’re trying to get out of junior design mode — ask yourself: 1. without the logo, do these three posts still obviously belong together? Follow up with: 2. can I easily point to repeating rules (layout, type behavior, spacing, color logic, ...)? 3. could another designer easily continue this system without me in the room? If you answer 1. no 2. nope 3. uhmmm, not sure then you’re in trouble. If the logo disappears and the connection goes with it, that’s your signal: you don’t have a visual system yet, just three nice visual pieces. maybe a very nice logo, too. So, run this test early, save yourself time later.

Bereaved fathers face significantly higher risks of PTSD, depression, and isolation. But we rarely talk about it. So I am. Grief doesn’t always look how you expect. It’s not just tears or funerals. Sometimes it’s silence. Sitting in the car for 20 minutes, unable to turn the key. Smiling through meetings when your heart feels like it’s collapsed. Waking in the night, dreaming they’re still here. But grief also lives in the everyday moments you don’t see - Seeing someone with a bald head in the supermarket and instantly reliving chemotherapy wards. Wanting to hug a stranger going through treatment and say, “I respect you. I feel for you.” Turning off adverts about cancer. Lowering the volume when the “C word” is mentioned on the radio. Avoiding social events because you just don’t have the energy to explain. As a dad, you’re taught to be strong. To hold it all together. But what if holding it together means never truly healing? Grief doesn’t make you weak. It makes you real. And sharing it might be the strongest thing you ever do. To anyone struggling whether you’ve lost someone or are supporting someone who has: You’re not alone. Please talk. Please reach out. It’s Saturday morning so going to unabashedly crowdsource. If any of the much smarter than me homeowners out there can listen to this sound, it’s coming from our attic periodically and sounds like a man with a leaf blower is just hanging out up there. No AC/Heat is on. It’s in a pretty inaccessible part of the attic. Local to this area of the home. Completely confused as to what it could be. Sounds like a pump or motor.

There is a growing new trend in Japan, it’s called Butsukari Otoko, it s type of physical assault towards women in crowded places like the street or train stop. Usually it’s men that do it but a growing number of women are now joining in the trend as well. The purpose is to perform Chikan which is deliberately ramming into a woman and making it look accidental. It’s supposedly used to relieve frustration or annoyance against cellphone users. When this happens it’s getting harder to press charges because they mean to make it look accidental so it’s hard to tell who is doing it deliberately and who is doing this intentionally, either way I feel children should be off limits, accidental or not, with this new trend should this be charged regardless of intent when kids are involved?
