Major developments to solidify and unify the Syrian scholarly fabric were outlined today in a gathering of the Awqāf Ministry and scholars Awqāf spokesperson outlined: Our Fiqhī Madhabs are 4, and our creedal Madhabs are 3; Ash‘arī, Māturīdī, Ahl al-Hadīth (cont.)

Shaykh Adham al-‘Asimī brought up two points in his speech -Degrading an Imām of the Ash‘arīs (as well as the other two) must be a punishable offense, since we agree they are Ahl Sunnah -Fiqhī matters that cause disputes (Tarāwīh, Zakāt, Adhān..) must be unified to avoid Fitnah

Shaykh Dr. ‘Abd al-Rahīm ‘Attūn, speaking on behalf of the Awqāf, responded: -The Imāms of the Ash‘arīs and Māturīdīs are our Imāms, and they are crowns on our heads. Any defiling of them will definitely be criminalized and we have already begun working on that

-Those Fiqhī issues will be unified and solidified according to what the ‘Urf in Damascus is Tarāwīh being 20 will be mandated on mosque Imāms, two Adhāns on Jumu‘a, time of breaking the fast, etc. Very reassuring steps being taken اللهم تمم

and that’s how it’s supposed to be, I admittedly lived in a Salafi country with no diverse Madhabs my whole life but never in my 30 years old life have I seen such division. Only in recent years and exclusively online. I’m so sick with this ‘takfiri’ discourse, It’s filled with prejudice and misinformation because we were always taught that Ahlu-Alsunna wa Al-jama’a are 4 madhabs, differed in some fiqhi matters but all are muslims who believe in the Quran and Sunnah.

It was the “Salafis” that stood up to nusayris, whilst ur sufis like “bouti” was bout-licking lool, sufis trying to have things in their favour in behest of the labours of their biggest enemies lool, May Allah allow free speech to thrive there, this will destroy the sufi ideology
