I don’t believe that it would be endless light with this particular set up, but it would be several hours of light at least before you would have to soak the coils in vinegar to remove the oxidation that would occur on both the aluminum and the copper.

@DesertOgre_Dave No wonder we are ourselves are light beings, composed of water and electrolytes. But unconnected from the Father of lights we can't shine.

It is Copper and Zink, and no it is not endless. Electrolysis.

This is why the space aliens live in the ocean. The ocean is one huge battery.

Great science project for school. What are the products needed @grok?

Non Re-chargable batteries aren't endless and have been around for centuries.

@grok does this work ?

Not endless and not free. By a battery it will last longer and be cheaper.

The battery only works until the sacrificial metal (usually zinc) corrodes & dissolves - typically lasting anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours, depending on electrode size & power draw. Not free energy, simply a one-time chemical reaction that eventually runs out.

If you think about it, humans are a salt water battery. This is how I believe they can see us through Ghost Murmur. Think about it...

Basically chemical reaction is used to generate electricity. Not endless. This works until the either metal is corroded away. Which should be fairly soon.

Congratulations... You discovered the battery!

Why bother with free light when the real challenge is turning on the mental switch to stay motivated at the gym?

Mr. Wizard demonstrated that a saltwater battery is a type of wet cell in which salt acts as an electrolyte, conducting electricity between two dissimilar metals, such as zinc and copper. This chemical reaction (electrolysis) causes electrons to flow, generating current.

Max voltage for Al and Cu in salt water will be ~2V. Not enough for white LED.

endless is a lie. so you are a liar or an idiot. or both. aaand *plonk*

What does this say about the salty oceans? How are stars, Suns, even moons being illumined?

@Doctah_T Not endless though.

Do better cmon. Anyone want the truth it can be done but alot more involved to produce actualy usable energy to power a small led also use potato or a lemon etc see here

“Endless light with salt and water”……and niche connection pieces you have a scour the internet for cause you know the OP didn’t link them in the comments. 😀

4000b. Years ago The Agastya Samhita is an ancient Indian text, often attributed to Maharishi Agastya, that contains verses describing a method to construct an electric battery or cell

Dude be like...super easy right?" I'm over here like...

Fake. Tämä prosessi kuluttaa metallilankoja ja prosessi ei ole ikuinen. Kupari-rauta (tai sinkki) sähköpari tässä ja parempiakin on paristoissa. Sähkökemiallisesti kiva koe toki.

It's not "endless", because the salt corrodes the anode and cathode. It's "free" if you have an endless supply of copper wire!

After all, she explains, “70% of the earth’s surface is saltwater and we still rely on other expensive means that are dependent on geography, climate, and fuel.” 🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡 nothing really new, it is taught in schools. 13 NOV 2014 ~

Nothing is free

Used a coin cell battery

cool, now build me 1 million of those for free. i need to power my house!

Not eìndless light as the electrolight runs out and single like this would most likely only producue .5-.7 volts and the amps would be very low conaidering most leds require 2.5 - 3v its a bit more involved here then just a single cell to provide endless light lol

When the diode burns out, you’ll have to swap out the LED so make it easily swappable...

Endless for how long? As long as you have a supply of salt and water or as long as there is water in the jar and the LED is not burned out?

While it’s cool, it’s not endless… first, need to refill salt, second after a while will need to change the wires as these will degrade..

Ya I have all these ingredients in my sock drawer 😂😂😂.

@grok give me detailed instructions and links to get resources to make this
