The video is cut short, but if you watch the entire video, they keep cutting until they end up with a toothpick.

I find it hard to believe it takes that much scrap wood to produce a 4x4

The log-flipper arms impressed me as much as the rest of it. Pretty great that nobody has to put their body parts near that thing.

We have a closed Hardwood Mill , when they fired up everything electrical went whaaaa for a few minutes like AC on 220 kicked in😂 I’m 14 miles from the place. I kinda miss it. Rural Co-op electric!

It’s a lot of Tree farming here, mostly pine for pulpwood, Cardboard production. The Hardwood trees are usually a sale of land. But beautiful wood!!!

Satisfying to watch. But if one full log of wood could only make a couple of planks, wonder how many trees go to the wood industry daily.

This was one of my favorite sounds when I worked at a mill. Scary how dangerous it was but man I loved to watch it roll logs

And that’s it now I know how they make the boards, only the first three cuts go to the Home Depot

Spent 6 months at an Idaho mill Lonnnng ago ! … always, like here with ‘one’ sawyer … notice him turning the log … trying to get the highest quality lumber out of each cut … he’s a MAJOR key to maximizing profit from a log

Seems wasteful. Nature should grow trees in right angles 😃
