It's a one time use drainplug, too, so if you don't have a spare one before you start the job you're going to be Uber-ing your way to the dealer. Some of the early 2nd gen Raptors used them. Offroad vehicles with plastic oil pans. Can't make this shit up.

The skid plates are designed to protect the plastic shit. The plastic shit is cheap to make and easy to replace. Simple maintenance is designed for dealer$hip technicians, not for decent mechanics on the driveway.

Ford did that so the oil can be changed without tools. The aftermarket also offers an alloy petcock to replace the plastic drain plug.

She is right. Her BMW would never because they don't even come with drain bolts anymore. You gotta vacuum the fluids out the top and measure what you took out then put that much back.
