Make no mistake about it, vouchers have a significant negative impact on voucher-users' achievement, walk back civil rights victories, & are a massive distraction from our state's failures to adequately fund public education & public health amid record budget surpluses. @TexasAFT Public Education is the very foundation of our country.

@EvilMopacATX @TexasAFT Nonsense. Racists like you just want minority kids stuck in their failing government schools.

"When it comes to student test scores, researchers across five states and Washington, D.C., produced 17 pieces of analysis. Eleven found that vouchers and scholarships improved test scores for at least some students. Four studies found no effect, while three found that vouchers and scholarships negatively impacted test scores for certain groups."

Simply counting any study produced regardless of methods, data, and analysis procedures is not an approach that should be used to draw any conclusions about a research topic. The most sophisticated studies published in double-blind peer-reviewed journals using longitudinal data consistently find that voucher programs in multiple states have a significant negative achievement outcome on students who use vouchers. Industry research paid for by the Waltons or Fordham that do not undergo rigorous peer review and use just a small subset of data may not be accurate for many reasons. That's why we don't count studies.

@TexasAFT Everyone, meet David. He wants to force your kids to go to failing schools…

@TexasAFT If the AFT is involved in it you know you will get only one side and it will all be about power and money.

@TexasAFT Thank you so very much!!!

@TexasAFT Maybe Texans should stop voting for republicans. Just a thought.

@TexasAFT I thought Democrats believed in choice😕

@TexasAFT How the f*ck can that be? Are you smoking the devils weed? Why do non-public schools that have less money per child out-perform public schools that consistently increase spending? #schoolchoice #texaseducation
