Love this one. I think it is a tasteful reinterpretation of the style. Not overly ornate, but even the little details add so much.

Hood sketched supertall annexes to his American Radiator & Tribune towers. As a big woulda,coulda,shoulda guy, I shopped this to visualize what his American Radiator Annex might have looked like. With an arch. degree do you sketch, draw deco towers of your imagination?

I do sketch, and I have been drawing deco towers. This is super cool, I haven't seen this sketch before. I love the work of Hugh Ferris when it comes to deco sketches.

Street furniture is another area where the ornate design has been lost

Labour was cheap … these things are impossible today … but there is a hope with the 3D printing 3D carving technologies which could brought back these details and ornaments for a cheaper price
